| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 22, 2009 Bottle. Deep golden with nice tan coloured head. Lots of sweet malt, caramel and earthy and citrusy hop aromas. Flavours of sweet malt and toffee are nicely offset by hop bitterness. Plenty of hops on the finish. Nice beer BarossaLuke (108), Australia
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Oct 21, 2009 On tap. Dark amber to cooper colour. Lots of English hop and caramel aromas. Palate is med bodied, with some lsight resin hop flavours. Not a bad pale ale, but not my favourite style. hawthorne00 (133), Australia
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 17, 2009 After tasting their odd Steam Ale, tried in the new packaging to see whether they’d footled with it. No.
Caramel in colour. Small beige head. Flowers and pears on the nose, maybe some grapefruit too. Round malt with a nice herbaceous balance from the hops. Medium to full body (for the style). Moderately astringent finish.
Doesn’t taste much like an English pale ale, except in the way it tastes somehow alive. A lovely original beer. Dervock (183), Emu plains, Australia
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 11, 2009 Bottle - Hazy amber with a small off white head that didn’t last very long. Roast malt, fruit and yeasty vegemite aroma. Bit light on taste, fruity up front, followed by some bitterness and then a light caramel malt aftertaste. davidm (186), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 10, 2009 Bottle 330ml. Enjoyable beer. Aroma is dominated by malt and toasted, with some strange hoppiness (maybe resin). Flavour has sweetness all the way, but also bitterness towards the end, and the length is pretty good. Watery in the palate, and light to medium body. Dark red colour with a head that disappears quickly. floydian1 (290), FNQ, Australia
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 4, 2009 330ml bottle from First Choice liquor. A copper-amber beer with a large disappearing beige head. Prominent caramel malt aromas with floral hops and faint citrus. The flavour is largely sweet roasted malts with hints of coffee beans and a low hop bitterness. Much sweeter than any of English "real ales" I have tried in the UK. More like a lighter bodied version of a Belgian bruin ale if you ask me. It’s still pretty good though. nate2g (1132), Brisbane, Australia
