Rustic dark brown appearence, the brew was lively from the outset, foaming persistently from the bottle. Roasted/burnt malt flavours, coffee and nutmeg. Reasonable length on the palate but didn’t have the gutts to be a top rating beer.

Quite a soft coffee and licourice aroma which follows through on the palate. Medium bodied in style, quite creamy, but enjoyable to be sure. jonno (566), Brisbane, Australia

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 9, 2009 Bottle. Jet black, with nice brown head. Nice roasty malt flavour, with a good crystal malt to lift the overall maltiness of the stout... Good bitterness & roastiness. Great for a cold day... or night! mkel07 (526), Brisbane, Australia
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 8, 2009 330ml bottle. Thick and syrupy with a a volcanic head of thick tan foam, 10% beer 90% foam when poured. Flavour of burnt malt with a strong aroma of coffe and chocolate. Super lively in the mouth with extreme carbonation and a burnt toffee flavour that lasts. Davros (219), Australia
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Apr 20, 2009 Pours tar black with slight copper hue. Generous brown/tan head fades quickly leaving good lacing.
Lots of roasted grains, some dark chocolate and oats.
Initial sweet flavour quickly overpowered by bitter roasted grains, which contribute a rich espresso hit.
Thick, rich mouthfeel although carbonation is a bit over the top. chicagodri (1041), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Roasted malt and chocolate in the aroma and flavor. A little thin in the body, but still enjoyable beer. I liked it. nate2g (1079), Brisbane, Australia

Served through the randall which was filled with locally sourced coffee beans. Pours dark brown with a creamy tanned head. Intensely fresh mocha aroma with underlying roasted malt and chocolate. The flavour is mocha coffee, roasted malts and chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel, though a touch on the thin side in body. Sweet bitter finish. It tastes great from the randall.
