I like meads but not necessarily this one. Not that it was bad. Just not mead-like. Copper/orange color. The nose was floral, fruity, and alcoholic. A hint of tequila, owing from the agave nectar. Medium bodied and smooth. No carbonation. The flavor had some zest to it and was very much like a mild Marguarita.

Portland Holiday Ale Festival 2004. Orange colour, simple aroma and flavour of flowers. Quite dry and tannic.

Sunset copper, no head obviously, inviting aroma of honey, peach, alcohol and more. Light to medium bodied, stiff, wet, dry with flavors of lemony honey (almost like an herbal tea). Its made from blue agave which some tequila is made from, I dunno, its in there but I cannot describe the taste, makes it unique, tangy, a bit acidic but playful with the flowered honey sweetness. This is good mead, not a in jadwiga class IMO for it doesn;t have the palate but damn flavorful and worth a try, better then chaucer's and I think thats rated pretty highly on here if thats worth anything.

Marigold color. Apple juice and bursting lemon dryness in aroma. Mango and melon nose, tart but tempered with very clean, aromatic flowery honey. I wish I'd had "real" tequila before tasting this mead to compare the agave flavors. I am going to seek this out (have heard Mountain Meadows might be going out of business??) and savor more in the future.

Rose-hued peach. Lethargic tearwork drapes the sides of the glass. Very delicate notes of peach, honeydew, and fresh agave interwoven with luxurious alcohol, rose petals, and mild graham sweetness. Still. Elegantly silky on the palate. Medium body. First taste yields a delicate, coppery, tingly acidity, followed by lovely agave and peach notes which chase away some of the sweetness. Very bright and flowery, throughout, with a perfect level of sweetness coming from the honey, which leaves plenty of room for the agave. Mild tartness continually lurks in the background. Plenty of dryness, grit, and silk on the finish, yet with plenty of complementary honey notes to deepen the lovely peach skin acidity and tangy agave. Powdery residue coats the inner lips as the lengthy tartness never relents. Not a surprise, another extremely fine mead from this world-class meadery, teeming with extravagance.
