Bottle. No head (still). Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is notes of paint, plastic/vinyl, turpentine/alcohol, nutmeg, green leaves (tomato leaves?), honey, and vanilla. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, slightly unclean. Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, flat carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Second time I’ve tried this one. First time was at the 2006 Int’l Mead Fest; I gave it a 1.9, mostly for having such a foul phenolic aroma. But of course the other ratings here made me think that either that batch was off, or I was outta my mind. So I bought a bottle of my own recently so I could sample it at home in a nice setting in a good glass. Oof. Not much better. Granted, there are some pleasantries in the nose, and the bad aspects may not be from phenols but rather from added spices or something. Either way, it smells quite poor. Enough that I’m afraid to drink much of it. I have nothing against Mountain Meadows, I just don’t like this one. And I’ve been fair by giving it two tries a year apart.

Has a sour citrus and yeast aroma. A golden color that produces no head or lacing. This beer is sweet and smooth as it flows through the mouth. A strong developed honey taste is present and lingers well over the palate after swallowing.

Pale yellow colour. Prominent alcohol aroma, apple, spice, flowers, peach and apricot. Flavour is awesome, ginger, spice flavour with some orange thrown in as well. Fairly sweet with a long and spicy finish.

Poured clear with a yellow tint. Aroma is sweet, dry and vinuous. Taste is very fruity, with grapes predominating plus hints of apple. A thick sweet honey taste nicely blends in with the chardonnay-like fruitiness. The alcohol gives the flavor a slight burn and warms the stomach. The finish is clean and dry. Absolutely delicious.

I know meads are considered in the beer family but this was like drinking a dessert wine. Poured almost clear with a slight tinge of yellow. No head. Nose was vinous, sweet, honey. Smooth and slightly syrupy in the mouth. The flavor was honey, alcohol, warm, vinous. I’m into dessert wines and this was like some I’ve had. Good stuff.

Clear pale golden color. Aroma of white grapes with hints of honey. Dry, grape flavor leading into a strong honey presence with hints of pear. Warming alcohol in the finish. Full of flavor, but this was my first mead and I am not quite accustomed to the style.

This is my first mead ive ever rated, so this may be ruff. Looks like, well mead, a very clear with a golden tint. Heavy lacing down the side of the glass. Aroma is very sweet with hints of honey and pear. Veary sweet and fruity taste initially on the palate. Very smooth going down with a sligth alcohol taste. Some tart taste near the end, almost sourish, like a green apple. Very good, but i don’t think i could drink a lot of it.

Chardonnay color. Pear, faint citrus aroma. Light vinous, herbal and champagne yeast flavors. Slightly sticky palate yet fairly dry finish. Warming sensation was only evidence of alcohol. Lovely!
