Ernest (4197), Boulder, Colorado, USA Mar 26, 2006 Draught.
Head is fully diminishing.
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, chocolate, caramel), lightly hoppy (grapefruit), with light notes of peach and vanilla.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Not bad, but not a standout stout for Mtn Sun. A peachy note makes for an odd stout accompaniment. A bit too tart for me as well. luckygirl (1212), Longmont, Colorado, USA Feb 17, 2006 Draught at the brewery. Beer poured a nearly opaque, dark brown-black color without a head. The aroma was moderately malty with a note of roasted grain, moderately hoppy with a note of resin/pine and only slighlty intriguing with miscellaneous notes of vanilla and stone fruits that quickly disapated as the brew warmed. The flavor was lightly sweet, moderately acidic and lightly bitter with a long, tinglingly acidic, moderately bitter finish. The body was medium-to-full, the texture was watery and the carbonation was soft. Pretty much a cricketfest.
