Fortunately this beer is better than the football team. black pour with thick tan foamy head. big nut, small smoke and sour malt aroma. Closer to a Porter than a brown. This is a sour bitch. nice nut and creamy mouth. That last line just sounds wrong. good brew. potbeercollege (369), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Aroma of roasted coffee, notes of chocolate and the Kiohoga River. Ends earthy, short bitterness. Nice brown ale. Aubrey (2777), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 10, 2002 Pretty big "brown." Could be Java Porter’s little brother. Full bodied and pretty roasty. Has a sharpish alcohol nip, with a rounded burntness to match. Slight fruitiness in the hops. Astringent, sourish finish. Very interesting. AustinMilbarge (681), Denver, Colorado, USA

Because from the porter and stout I had at Southern Sun, I had a pretty good buzz going. Not really that brown, more towards the dark-dark brown/black side of things. A little bit of sharpness to the flavor. But still some good nutty flavors. I think this would go well with a big ass hamburger or good cut of steak.
