BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 1, 2008 Deep dark brown pour, almost black, with some light ruby highlights A tiny ring of bubbly tan foam rises to the occassion. Sweet roasted coffee that has that just finished brewing aroma. Rich, creamy and malty with a bitter chocolate flavor that dominates with a dry bitterness coming through in the finish. Coffee comes through more in the nose than on the palate, but still is a really easy drinking porter. rmussman (688), California, USA Jul 8, 2008 Sampled at the brewhouse. Very well flavored brew with a very coffee base and nice porter finish. Pours very dark and has high quantity of malt. Well done. soyorganic (117), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 1, 2008 On tap at Vine St. Nice beer: poured dark black with a small tan head. A dark maltish and coffee aroma. Heavy carbonation and full taste with just enough coffee taste. I thought this tasted great and was balanced perfectly (right amount of hops) especially if you like both coffee and beer. TikiE (337), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Jun 13, 2008 On Tap: Pours a dark black color with a tan head. Tastes of coffee beans and roast. Had it on Nitro. norsedoc (154), USA Apr 20, 2008 Had this at their new Vine Street Pub. Dark black beer with a thin brown head. Nice coffee flavor, not overwhelming. Smooth, doesn’t have that sourness that many coffee beers have. Fairly dry. Pleasant, but not fantastic.
