On tap @ Falling Rock poured a clear brown with a small brown head. Aromas of pine and citrus. Palate was medium bodied and resiny. Flavors of BIG HOPS, pine, and grapefruit with a hint of carmel and a nice bitter finish.

Apr 15, 2007 On tap at the 10th Annual San Diego Strong Ale Festival: Pours a hazy copper orange with a nicely-lacing off-white head. Aroma of fresh citrusy lemon and piny hops with a touch of sweet caramel malt. Body starts with good malty sweetness balanced with a fresh, bittering hoppy presence and a crisp, bittersweet piny resiny finish. A good American strong ale.

Feb 7, 2007 10th Annual SD Strong Ale Fest: Poured a hazy dark amber color with a small off-white head. Some fresh grapefruity notes, not huge but it covers most of the malt. Fruity malt with a citrusy hop middle. Semi-dry moderately bitter finish. Nice warming sensation.

Jan 11, 2007 PP Ale fest, Dark copper, tan head, very oily hop resin, touch of alchohol, fair amount of malt and nice grassy hop aroma. Very crisp clean finish for a 9.6%
