Tap at brewpub during GABF 2009.
Pours a deep black with a coffee nose. Flavor is rich coffee and chocolate. Thick, lasting mouthfeel. Good, GOOD beer.

Cask Stillage from the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 26/09/2009 Big roast aroma. Beige head. Black rich on the palate hoppy and strong in alcohol with a crisp and bitter coffee roast finish.

On tap at the brewpub during GABF 2009. Pours a murky dark brown to black with thin tan head. Aroma is sweet and roasted with notes of chocolate, ripe dark fruit, caramel, light hints of coffee. Flavor is much of the same with heavier chocolate presence and more coffee notes. Medium to full body with a pleasing malty finish.

on tap at the Brewpub in Boulder on 9/25/09... pours a deep black with a nice tan head... very smooth big body over the palate with big roasted malts and a big nut presence... pretty solid Imp Stout but fairly one dimensional.

Draught. Pours black with an average, fizzy light brown head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, chocolate, nutty), light hop (herbs), average yeast (dough, leather) with notes of dates and brown sugar. Medium bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.

Draft @ brewpub. Roasted cocoa nibs on the nose, taste is roasty coffee upfront, fades to a nice cherry/hazelnut thing in the middle and then just kind of fades away. A lot like liquid Nutella. Nothing overly amazing or interesting, just Straightforward good beer

Draft. Dense, oily black body with a creme brule dark brown colored head. Pretty much nails all the standard characteristics of good imperial stout - roast, medium to good level attenuation, oily, rich body - medium hop presence, chocolate and cocoa flavored dense malts - but it doesn’t really stand out. Seems very neutral on the tongue, quiet, mild, etc., which I usually go for but I think this one is a little too quiet. Easy to drink, easy to enjoy, but it’s not a stout that makes you get into it and think about it.
