Crisp and zesty, it has a nice head and good light crisp taste and finish. Definitely the beer I was looking for right now. illinismitty (1797), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 20, 2009 Draft at Radio Maria in Champaign, IL. Pours golden with a thin dissipating white head. Honey like aroma. Flavor of biscuit, honey, and lemon zest. Light bodied with out being watering. Clean finish. This is a good lawnmower beer, and this does not deserve a low rating. I suspect that this is a victim of the ratebeer bias toward light bodied session beers. riversideAK (2731), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Very nice aroma of crisp hops and some corn flake sweetness. Appearance is a blonde ale. Flavor is nice cereal sweetness followed by some crisp hoppiness and ending with a dry and creamy smoothness. Incredibly smooth on the palate. This is one of the better blonde ales I have ever had. doubleo (1104), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours a cloudy golden orange color with a fluffy, crisp white head. Smells mellow, earthy malty and a little nutty. Tastes nutty as well. Earthy malts, earthy hops or is that the hops that taste like peanuts? Moderately dry mouthfeel. Medium body, good smooth carbonation. bhensonb (4283), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 14, 2007 Bomber from Bottle Barn. Aroma of caramel/lightly roasted malt (sort of honey/toffee) and floral hop. A deep inhale is interesting. An orangy golden color with a white head that ringed rapidly, leaving lace tatters. Medium bodied with mild carbonation. It starts floral, but soon comes up with rough roasted malt accompanied by light sweetness. It’s also lightly fruit in a peachy/apricoty way. Very much in an apricoty way. It’s actually pretty darn complex, and that is an indication this is underrated. The finish is neither sweet nor dry. The bitter is floral, so I’d guess about 40 IBU. Although bitter builds with continued consumption. I’d forgotten how talented those folks at Moylans are. This is extremely enjoyable ale. Crisp, clean, lightly spicey. Everything ale should be. Wonderful. ChainGangGuy (2568), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 12, 2009 Appearance: Pours a slightly hazed, orange-amber body with a full, frothy, whitish head. Closer in color to the alternating stripes on the bomber than actually being golden.
Smell: Spiced citrus and doughy, bready malts with some sweetish honey and light caramel notes.
Taste: Bready, sweetish maltiness with a light touch of caramel. Tangy fruitiness with tastes of apple, lemon, and a hint of peach. Seemingly spicy, lemon-laden hops with a medium-low bitterness. The breadiness deevolves into a more basic, generic doughy taste interspersed with hints of sweet honey. Finishes semi-dry with some enduring hints of dough and honey.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus, lightly crisp carbonation.
Drinkability: Paired well with the movie "Journey Into Fear". Well-balanced, easy drinking, and I’ll even say it has a bit more going on flavorwise than many blonde/golden ales out there. Kinz (2205), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Light orange, light particulate haze, decent head fades quite slowly to a ring. Aroma is bready and surprisingly roasty considering the pale color. I’m actually getting a faint coffee note. Flavor is also surprisingly roasty, I would have pegged this for a brown ale if I had been sampling blind, and would have been rather obviously wrong. Some earthy hops on the finish accent this as well. Easy drinker, enjoyable, and clearly a different take on the golden ale category. epicurie (6), , California, USA does not count | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 11, 2007 I’m surprised this one is rated so low - definitely enjoyable for me. Nothing about it is huge or complex, but I found it very drinkable. Smells clean and fruity, almost flowery. Very crisp and light, with a wonderful apple and grapefruit hop taste that finishes with decent presence without being cloying. Slightly sweet through all the crispness of the hops, though the malt taste is very subdued. The mouthfeel is light, and it finishes clean and dry. Would be an excellent pair to fried foods. Extremely good for a "lawnmower beer" choice too.
