Bottle. Hazy orange coloured with an off white head. Aroma of malts, caramel and fruits, Fruity flavour with acidic notes. Unpleasant and boring.

Bottle. Average fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished. Fair lacework. Clear flat body with an amber color. Aroma of caramel, herbs, fruit and citrus... Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Flavor was light sweet and bitter with hint of acidic. Light dry and bitter finish.

(Bottle 65 cl) Hazy, amber golden with a small, off-white head. Lightly tart, caramelish nose. Medium body, some caramel and some odd bonbon-like notes. Has a vague, underlying acidity. The finish is dry. I reckon this is slightly infected. 160607

Amber in color with nice frothy head, that is gone quick. Nose of malt. Flavor is malty also with a hint of grain. Body was medium. Rather a oh well ale. Not a lot exciting going on here.

Bottle: Like the Lazy Boy IPA before it, somewhat dark copper in color, moderate off-white foamy head, fairly nice lacing, no noticeable carbonation.   Nose of musty/grainy malts, soft tho, along with some earth and straw/hay.   Toasted biscuity malt start, semi-sweet, low hope profile, not as earthy grainy as I would have thought based on the nose.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finish is a somewhat cerealy semi-sweet lightly roasted malts.   Meh... not bad but not all that interesting either.   I shoulda had this with some food or something.

A small beige ring of foam over a partly cloudy redish-copper body. Aroma is barnyard. Not gueuze/Saison barnyard. The horsie-just-did-poo-poo type of barnyard. That and mashed green peas. Taste is not quite as bad as the aroma suggests although a big vegetal. Some high-bran cereals, cooked vegetables, distant pineapples/cherries and even a little cardboard. Probably a bad bottle. This cannot be a true Irish Style Ale. If this was a true Irish Style Ale then the Irish would be renowned for their legendary sobriety, and it’s not exactly the case.

My Bottom Line:
Unfortunately, weeds were growing through the green pea plantation in our bottle. The citrusy hops and wet earthy, leafy finish were definitely bothered by this DMS rampage.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the hazy orange-red.
-Carbonation is expansive, yet does not succeed in alleviating the horrible chaos reigning in the flavor profile.
-The wetness in the hoppy finish somewhat recalls the fecal earthiness perceived in the nose (sorry for saying that, but that’s what I got).
-This one cannot be this bad all the time, so I promise a re-rate once another bottle crosses my path.

Pours with a three-finger thick, creamed-amber to tan colored head that sits atop a brilliantly clear, reddish-amber, almost cranberry colored brew. The aroma is quite malty with notes of biscuit malt, soda crackers, fruity raisin notes, and some definite berry aromatics. The aroma almost smells artificial in some way; it is not, but something about the malt sweetness gives me this impression.

Lightly full, medium body here. It is still fairly sweet, with that amp’d up berry character here in the flavor. Toasted biscuit malt notes are evident up front and there is a touch of dark grain astringency in the finish, though I wouldn’t say there is any roast character here. Lots of caramelized crystal malt character here, this brew is practically definite by it. The hops play a supporting role here; most noticeable as a light to nipping bitterness in the finish, but there is also a nice herbal hop flavor here as well. There is an almost saccharine quality to the berry-sweetness in the finish here, not sure what is giving the beer this taste, but it is a touch distracting at times. Still this is mostly a really nice, malty beer that is easy drinking and great for those who like the malt focused equivalent of a Pale Ale.
