Commercial Description:
This strong Moylan's brew is what keeps those Irish eyes a smiling. Its deep amber radiance has been described by our brewer as the most visually enticing beer. This ale's rich malty flavor, full body, invigorating aroma, and expansive finish empower it to be extremely satisfying and repeatedly enjoyed. Great Western Two Row Pale Malt, De Wolf-Cosyns' Caravienne and Munich Malts are allied to provide the 1.070 beginning specific gravity, while Fuggle and Liberty hops balance this sweetness. A classic rich and malty ale from Ireland. Unlike most "want-to-be" red ales, Moylan's red has a rich caramel character balanced with a low hop profile.

Bomber. Pours a hazy orange amber with a thin white head. Fruit and bread aroma with citrus hops. The body tends to light, with medium carbonation. The taste is nutty caramel and bread with hop bitterness showing up in the finish.

Cask at the brewpub. Malty aroma. Reddish amber color with a beige head that laces a bit. Starts medium malty, smooth and creamy, medium mouthfeel. The hop bitterness only arrives towards the finish, and balances the remaining malt.

I felt that this red ale was much deeper in flavor than most red ales I have had, which isn’t that many. It had that same chalkyness I get from guinness, but the beer was lighter and less viscous making the chalk almost reasonable. Low hops for sure. Very drinkable.

This is a fine red ale. Pours a nice copper, amber with a nice head and fine lacing. Nice balance of malts and hops with a strong bitter kick. Recommended.

22 oz bottle. Poured a dark amber with a tan head. Nose of malts and hops. Has a yeasty flavor and sweet and sticky mouthfeel. This may be decent for an Irish Red, but I am thinking this is not my favorite kind of beer.

The look of this beer is as far as this beer goes. It has amazing color and contour but overall this beer was too smooth for me. It offered no kick in the face like the Irish I know. I need some flavor Moylans. Give me the flavor. If I wanted water... I’d be drinking water.

Pours a rich amber color w/ a shallow creamy froth. Aroma is yeasty sweet with toasted grahm crackers. Nectar full w/ soft residual effers. Flavors of fresh baked toast with a fruity character, not sweet. The malt componant is not decadent, it’s more refined and balanced. It has a nice bittering on the finish. This is an amazing specimen brewed and true to it’s Irish yernings. Rich yet well balanced. Connoisseurs choice! Highly recommended.
