Small sticky off white/orangeish head. Sweet grainy, vegetal, somewhat unpleasant baked bean nose. Sweet, caramel/toffee, nutty, wood, roasty grain, light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sweet sweet and sourish. Bitter, citric, dirty foot, stinky hops. Maybe we should revise the style, or maybe get rid of it... chilehead (186), Laguna Niguel, California, USA

Expectations were not fully satisfied however. Poured dark red with a nice fluffy head. Mouth had much more of a tart note than I expected, while not entirely unpleasant, it was enough to make me not want to finish the glass. Too bad that IMHO this was not up to the high standards of his other brews. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 5, 2006 Bottle, from Julio’s. Ok nose, sweet. Malty, nutty, yeasty, caramel. Clean brownish orange color, good head that slowly reduced to a ring. Minor lacing. Bitter sweet flavor. Caramel, little bitter, lite fruity grape thing. Medium body, lite watery mouthfeel, mild bitterness on the finish. Tasty for an Irish red, had a similiar taste as the Kilt tilter, just milder. smcd (366), USA

Malty aromas, particularly from colored malts, with notes of caramel and toffee. No hop aroma. Deep, clear, red. No head. Deep, caramelly flavors and notes of toffee, again. Malty. Medium-full palate and a bit sticky. footbalm (1218), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
