Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Jun 8, 2009 Bottle shared at the 6th Cellar Reduction. Last of the night, thank god. But this was such a good one to finish on. Pours a clear orange with decent near white head. Magnificent sweet pine pineapple aroma, with some cat piss, and grapefruit. Lingering bitterness, but some sweetness present. This is amazing. But not hopstoopid. Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Jun 7, 2009 Bottle. High fluffy and lasting white head leaving nice curtains. Clear and beautiful amber body. Spicy and dry hoppy aroma and unfortunately also a hint of the alcohol. Dry, dusty and hoppy nutty flavor with clear indications of the alcohol. Long hops bitter aftertaste. Low carbonation. mrhoppy (208), Santa Clara, California, USA Jun 3, 2009 What can you say but oooh la la. Delicious hop monster. Very meaty. Won top honors at GABF. This will slap you down and you’ll get up for more. Birdiebeagle (777), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 3, 2009 Bottle Pours a cloudy copper with an off white head. The head lasts well. The lacing is excellent. Has a good hoppy aroma of citrus. A good carbonation. The flavor is excellent. Very hoppy. I love the in your face bitterness of this beer. Has a medium body. The mouthfeel is awesome. Has a strong finish, with an incredable aftertaste. This is a wonderful beer. Jus tplain love it. nbutler11 (727), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jun 2, 2009 On tap at Papago. Pours a bright copper hue with a beige head that leaves plenty of lacing. Briimming with an amalgam of hops in the aroma. Very reminiscent of Blind Pig in its saltiness with added notes of rice, slight cream, green apples, and grapefruit rind. Has some definite bite to it. wavers1 (110), novato, California, USA Jun 2, 2009 Updated: Aug 26, 2009i have grown to love this brew and its now my regular staple selection at moylans, and i am usually a dark beer guy, and they make good dark beer there. this stuff is so tasty, its like hops candy or something. taste like chewing on hops with the amount of oil that is in this beer, making it a viscous ambrosia almost neon orange in color when on tap. excellent readily available consistent triple ipa. i usually enjoy 3-4 glasses every time, impressive for an absurdly hopped ale that comes in above 9%. never seems to loose its enjoyablity and ’mmmmm’ factor, where as a lot of impy ipas tend to become discomforting after a bottle or so. alagnak (292), Littleton, Colorado, USA Jun 1, 2009 Bomber enjoyed next to the tent @ 9000 feet above Basalt, CO. Thought a piney hop bomb was apropos for the location amongst the lodgepole and spruce in front of a pine fire. Wow - definition of a ’hop bomb’. Smells like dunking your head in a hop bath, tastes of woody, bitter pine and is kind of all over the place. Finishes bitter, bitter, bitter. Pinnacle of the american IPA hop madness. They hit the mark with the ’Hop Tribute’ angle, but this one is too extreme for me (and I would say I’m ’hop-inclined’ as a rule). nerdrocker101 (102), Atlanta, Georgia, USA May 31, 2009 Pours orange and hazy with a lingering head. Floral and citrus aroma. Amazing hop taste but very well balanced.
