tarheels86 (699), Washington DC, USA Oct 29, 2009 On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso in Dupont Circle
Pours a light, very hazy, bright yellow with a thin white head that leaves okay lacing. Aroma is white pepper, tropical fruits, pineapple. Taste is raw, tropical mangoes and mango rind with ruby red grapefruit and orange peel. Huge, bitter palate. Very easy to drink. Abv is well hidden. Cruzan59 (197), Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 28, 2009 22oz single from Capone’s Bottle Shop, Norristown, PA...pours cloudy amber, off-white head...hoppy citrus aroma...bitter, piney, grapefruit rind taste, initially with candy sugar up front with a lingering bitterness...mellows and more alcohol apparent as it warms. Good stuff. Leighton (234), New York, New York, USA Oct 28, 2009 Hugely hoppy on all fronts. Had some on tap at Rattle n Hum. Nose of all types of hops. Flavor was a complex blend of all the hops with a touch of sweetness. Very sticky, piney. Lip-smacking on the finish. Really intense beer. Pwn3d (1036), Manhattan, New York, USA Oct 27, 2009 Oh my god, fantastic nose. Ripe tangerines with musky but aggressive spice and clove. Ultra hoppy, sweet malts, and brutal bitter spice! BRUTALLY UBËR! NathanJM (30), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Oct 20, 2009 Medium amber pour. Nose is pine, hops, herbaceous/grassy, and a note of something sweeter, caramelized sugars perhaps. Flavor isn’t much to speak of, but certainly on the bitter side. Finish settles into very nutty.. almond or peanut. Very contemplative. hellomisterp (31), Pennsylvania, USA Oct 18, 2009 22oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass. Starts off with a piney caramel aroma with some good lacing. Well carbonated with defining toffee notes that has a mellow warming at the end from the 9.2%. Summary: fruitful, hoppy, bitter. A great beer. Cavie (1277), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Oct 9, 2009 Orange red pour. Piny aroma. Hops dripping in tree sap. Taste is totally hoppy. Finish is dry and bitter and maintains the large hop profile. Solid but over the edge. Fratto (662), Arlington, Texas, USA Oct 8, 2009 Bottle thanks to Cavie. Orange pour. Very strong fruity hops aroma. Hops is a surprisingly backseat flavor. Woody with toffee and alcohol. Dry finish.
