cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Jun 26, 2008 Nice ruby/brown pour, nice pillowy foam leaving great retention on the glass. Looks great. Booming tough hops come off the nose, light piney, citrusy lemon/grapefruit, whisps of light spice and a distant hint of metal. Powerful and palate stomping bitterness comes off the back of this monster. Decent balance for the amount of hops, leaving its footprint on my tounge. Alcohol is present, but not overwhelming. Man this is one hoppy brew for sure. Nice. bleeng (587), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA Jun 24, 2008 Bomber. Hazy, cloudy dark gold. Hop nose is dominant with some fruity also. Tastes comes off very bitter and sharp with the hops upfront but not overwhelming. Thick, sticky body, well carbonated. Alcohol is present but not over the top for such a strong beer. Well done. carboloader (318), Houston, Texas, USA Jun 19, 2008 Thanks to friends in San Diego for this big bottle. The name says it all, and it does not disappoint. Pours textbook hazy orange with decent tan, frothy head. Aroma is pine and citrus hops -- a big bouquet, and malts. Holy moly! The hops hit you in the face, smack you upside the head, and pull your tongue in all directions. This is one of the most bitter, flavorful IPAs I’ve had to date. Scrumptious. Pretty well balanced too, hiding a lot of the alcohol. This is a big beer. Reminds me of Arrogant Bastard. Definitely one of my favorites. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 18, 2008 Bottle courtesy poonpillager. Dark rusty red/orange with a 1.5 finger white head. Nose of grapefruit hops, pinecones, lemons, orange zest and some perfume notes. There is a toffee malt background here but it’s slight. I like how in your face this one is. Pine and bitter citrus in the flavor as well, again with a very small malt backing. Great mouthfeel, very full and hefty for the style, tons of pine resin and very oily. Long finish, bitter and floral hops, some malt and then citrus rides into the finish. Awesome. MatSciGuy (627), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Jun 16, 2008 Updated: Jan 19, 2009[Bottle] shared by STLWill. Pours clear gold with a soapy whitish head. Nice citrus fruits nose, with plenty of pine resin and a little bit of buttery popcorn. Flavor is straight hops. Tongue-curling bitterness along with some alcohol burn.

Pours a clear golden amber with a firm off-white head of fine bubbles. Aroma is not terribly pungent, but there is some floral and citric hops with bit of sweetness from the malt and maybe a little bit of honey character. Lots of grapefruit on the nose as well. Flavor is bitter from front to back. Absolutely straight hop concentrate. This stuff is absolutely bracing. Really no alcohol detected anywhere. Incredibly dry on the finish with the bitterness lingering. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Jun 11, 2008 Bottle courtesy poonpillager. Pours a clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine and floral hops with a sweet malt and light caramel backbone. Tase is the same as aroma. Medium full mouthfeel with a strong amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. Very good. MrBeerFanatic (344), jamestown, New York, USA Jun 9, 2008 Pours a hazy dark/deep amber/copper with an off white head. Has a powerful aroma of fruity/juicy/sweet/sour hops and grapefruit. The taste here is somewhat like the aroma with a blast of hops on your tastebuds upfront with a little pineyness/citrus, grapefruits and a little sticky on the palate. Alcohol hidden pretty well. Semi-sweet. Bitter end. Very delicious Imperial IPA. Totally hop driven mostly. Not perfectly balenced but still all around good. undsioux7 (550), Cologne, Minnesota, USA Jun 7, 2008 Didn’t take notes on this one, but it was a serious hop bomb with a lot of bitterness. The flavor was good with citris, floral and some pine, but just a bit too much bitterness for me with almost no malt backbone.
