| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 23, 2008 Bottle shared with kleyland. Pours a hazy, light gold. Medium sized, off white head. Good bit of lacing around the glass. Huge aroma of piney hops. Flavor is a hop heads dream. Citrus, piney, with a nice malty backbone. Bitterness from the start. Thick mouthfeel, almost syrupy. Very nice beer, great start to the DL Weekend! GriffinAvenue (396), Winchester, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Bottle. Clear, clean copper color. No head. Limited carbonation. Sweet, apricot, simcoe, hoppy assault before the tasting. Tangerine, tangy aroma overall and flavoring follows with a bmore bitter ending on the tongue. Somewhat watery given how rich the aroma started out but a very high quality beer in my view. I’d avoided these guys for a while and not entirely sure why.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 17, 2008 They’re not kidding when they call it an ode to the hop. Pours a bright amber with a great head that lingers. Aroma of hops all the way. Bright citrus notes, and if you didn’t know what you were smelling, you’d think someone had a fresh-picked hop flower crushed under your nose. The flavor isn’t even balanced - some malts are there, but it’s all hops, for sure. Grapefruit and pine notes. This is a very seriously bitter brew - if you’re a hophead, you might not find much better... but even for me it’s a bit much. RomanW70 (297), Providence, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Used to live in Novato in the late 1990’s and went to Moylan’s often. One of my many introduction to great craft beer. I’m excited to rate my first. Pours dark amber with a frothy white head that fades into a ring. Huge aroma of grapefruit, pine and caramel. Hops really dominate the taste. It presents REALLY bitter all the way through. Certainly a beer that will please hopheads, but I would have appreciated a bit more balance. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Bomber. Pours a hazy amber with a 2 finger off-white head. Nose pine resin and sour citrus. Palate – man, I think this is the hoppiest beer I’ve had to date. Hit you over the head intense pine hops and sour yellow grapefruit. Not much malt detected – it’s starting to give me a bit of heartburn it’s so hoppy – but I like it! Long lingering bitter finish. Medium body with splotchy lacing. It’s pretty unbalanced, but it certianly lives up to its name. A very intense IIPA. jerc (3885), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2008 2008-04-11. Amber body with a modest white head. Nice hoppy aroma, lightly woody, resiny notes. Flavour is pretty bitter, good amount of resiny hops are a touch astringent in the finish. Palate is a touch more full bodied than average. (3+) Decent beer but I was looking for a lot more complexity to the hops, perhaps its just a touch past its prime? Bottle shared by DuctTape.
