NobleSquirrel (1094), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 11, 2008 This one turned out to be about what I expected. Sometimes high alpha hops aren’t the best approach, but they’re efficient. The bitterness was a bit astringent, though the nose was very nice. A decent beer, but missing the flavor of the hops, particularly the ones that were used. Goodgrief (1144), Middletown, Delaware, USA Mar 10, 2008 July 2007 - Bottle pours a reddish amber, cloudy chunks of "stuff", decent head and lacing. It really did smell like sweet tea. Flavor was sweet malts and knock down, drag out bitter citrus and some pine notes as well. Really one for the hopheads...probably the most bitter DIPA I’ve had yet. Memorable, even if a tad too bitter for my liking. garretjax (103), Colorado, USA Mar 10, 2008 Good amber colors, average white head. Abundant floral, rosey like hoppy aromas. Some soft grapefruit. Full body and an even carbonation. Nice hop flavor with bright bitterenss. Rounds out wiith sweet alcohol. Nice contrast. Surprisingly long finish by the hops flavors at the back of the tongue for minutes after. mcart034 (35), Manassas, Virginia, USA Mar 8, 2008 Pours golden amber. Decent amount of hop aroma with pretty good head. Flavor of hops obviously but this Imperial was on the bitter side. Immediately malty and finishes bitter. Very full mouth feel. A great "triple" IPA. One I would pick up again. IHCNavistar (93), Orinda, California, USA Mar 5, 2008 Big Bottle. Poured a deep, moderately cloudy, golden amber. Nose was pretty much pure hops. Carbonation was not too strong, but not too weak, but just perfect for an IPA of this strength. Head was a creamy off-white that stayed around. Taste was pretty much pure hops. Bought this beer on a whim and am very lucky to have found it. Great Tripe IPA. guzzler67 (1272), Hanover, Maryland, USA Mar 2, 2008 Hazy, golden/amber appearance with a small, off white head and a moderate amount of lacing. Resinous, herbal, citrusy hop aroma. Intense, bitter, hoppy taste with the only balance being between the varieties of hops; malts are well buried in the background. Full-to-medium bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel with a long lasting finish. Very satisfying. lovemyipas (420), sw burbs, Illinois, USA Feb 29, 2008 pours a somewhat cloudy orange with a one finger fluffy off white head. aroma is strong hops and some caramel malt with grapefruit, orange peel, melon and pine. has a medium to full body with descent lacing and carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but stronger. the aroma also has some cotton candy to it. the beer is a little slick on the tongue and the hops stick to the tongue for a while. a very nice iipa. the aroma does get stronger as it warms and the head disappears. hombrepalo (726), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 29, 2008 -Alive aroma with some pine. Looks good when swirled, amber color with a smallish white head. Extra bitter hops, a bit too much withoverwelming flavors. I was expecting something different from this brewery. Still a good beer.
