pours a cloudy amber peach with a few floaters and a thin white head that moves to the edge and thickly laces the glass throughout. huge complex smell with lots of citrus and floral hops and a slight hint of alcohol. tastes like a baked version of the smell. lots of hops mixing together with the malt to give a sort of floral/citrus bread flavor. huge hop bitterness on the finish, and surprisingly sweet, yet not cloying. medium bodied and moderately carbonated. i love hops and this certainly packs them in, but i feel like it could be a bit better balanced.

I can believe that I have not rated this as I have had 3-4 bottles. Anyway, Cloudy orange/apricot color with huge fluffy white head. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, apricot, and pine. Resiny aroma. This beer taste just the aroma. Thick on the palate with apricot/mango hoppy finish. I remember footbalm sent me my first bottle, it was the old silkscreen bottle. Man, was it goooood. The other bottle were good but nothing like the 1st bottle.

22oz. Bottle: Very hoppy aroma. Smells of hops, resin, pine, grapefruit, and citrus. Poured amber in color with a medium-sized, rocky, tan head that lasted throughout. Excellent lacing. Hazy. Flavor is heavily bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, and resin. Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Very bitter finish. Overall, a really nice Impy IPA. Great bitterness.

Picked up a bottle at recent trip to Capone’s. Pours out a nice slightly hazy light copper/ orange color with a moderated mostly white head. Aroma is full of hops mostly pine and citrus. Taste is over the top hops, and not in a bad way. Citrus, pine, and slight malty sweetness throughout to add a very nice balance. Totally out of hand on the hops and I like it.

To put it into uncertain terms, this meets with hop lover approval. One has had beers roughly this hoppy before, but doubtful any hoppier. The thing with beers like this is one-dimensionality, that dimension being hops. This went to the top, and then over and back down a ways; it’s just a bit too much of a great thing. The film of bitterness sticks on the palate in less than the most pleasant of ways. On a more whimsical day, I’d give the beer extra points for going out on the limb of ridiculous extremity, though I’m having a tough time remembering doing that for a beer that lingered not-exactly-pleasantly on the palate like this. My throat is left dry-scratchy and with the flavor of thyme. Sound pleasant to you? Then you’ll love it.

Pours a hazy orange color with a thin white head. Superb flavor of pine needles and citrusy hops. Solid flavor of pine needles and citrusy hops with a strong bitter finish. The body is light to medium with a liquorous texture and gentle carbonation.

Pours hazy orange with a mid-sized, fluffy head. Aroma is strong citrus hops, pine, grapefruit, apricot, caramel. Thick and creamy body. Bitter!! Hops of citrus, pine and grapefruit. The alcohol is well hidden under the huge mound of hop bitterness. Resiny, bitter finish is long...real long. Bitterness stays when the delicious beer is gone. I almost think it’s too hoppy...HA! This is awesome.

One word for this beer is: WOW!!! It poured with a big, frothy head and when I tasted the foam it was loaded with hops. The beer tasted less hoppy than the foam, which I thought was unusual. The hops were entwined with a nice malt backbone, whose sweetness tended to tame the hops. I was surprised that I couldn’t taste any alcohol, even in the finish. This is one of my new favorites. It was worth drinking the other 360+ beers in my ratings list, so that I could finally discover this one. I loved everything about this beer, however this definately isn’t a session beer.
