slang (392), Columbia, South Carolina, USA Sep 5, 2009 draft. hop-slap in face. floral w/ grapefruit infused pine resin. Funky but EZ. yea shawnm213 (841), South Bend, Indiana, USA Sep 4, 2009 Nice bonus from wavers1- THanks again! pours a clear copper orange with a decent cream colored head. leaves some decent lace. aroma is big sweet malts, nice citrusy juicy hops, pineapple, some grapefruit, caramel, a little booze, orange. not bad at all! flavor has a nice clean sweet malt backbone, a bit of booze. WHoa nelly the grapefruit is starting to kick in. and some booze. i might be fucked. nice body. overall, a big flavorful beer with a tight aroma. a little boozy at times, but not overly so. pretty good! I like it! TEJA (281), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 3, 2009 Draught at OT. Small head and pale color. Big grapefruit aroma. Typical american hop taste. The body is big if not perfect with some sweeness. puggy211 (576), cordova, Tennessee, USA Aug 30, 2009 Pours a clear rich amber color with thin off white head. Aroma is of intense resinous pine, citrus rind and light biscuity malt. Full bodied, oily and sticky, this is a pretty great iPA but again, nothing like Hopslam humulushound (109), British Columbia, Canada Aug 21, 2009 Exceptional. Pours into snifter with understated head and rich opaque burnt-copper murk. Lovely floral hop and ripened citrus aroma, some toasty caramel malt. Flavor is initially floral, then the first wave of bitter, then a nutty mid-palate with pine in the undertones, finishing with a warming alcoholic bitterness. Smooth and medium viscosity. Only the lack of balance and perhaps one layer of complexity separates this one from higher ranked DIPAs. drowland (1337), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 18, 2009 Intense. The hops make this beer so bitter and dry that it literally gives you cottonmouth! Very high quality, just not quite balanced enough for me to rave. JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Aug 17, 2009 Bottle. Opaque orange pour with a medium tan head. Citrus hop aroma that is very crisp, but also has a nice malt character. Very bitter hop flavor, lots of citrus with a touch of malt and a full and lasting bitter finish. Outstanding. Miksu (2187), Jyväskylä, Finland Aug 16, 2009 0.66 l bottle at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Deep copper color. Strong piney hop aroma with toffeish and nutty maltiness in the background. Pungent bitter, piney, fruity and soapy hop flavor with some sweetness and nutty maltiness. Some alcohol sharpness. Pretty tasty but the hop character is too soapy.
