ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA Aug 13, 2007 Nose of flowers, citrus, evergreen, and burnt resin. Pours a hazy orange with ample amounts of yeast-monkeys floating about. The very nice cascade resolves into a fully lasting creamy off-white head with very good lace. The brew has a sweet alcohol bleed at the front with moderate acidity and a long burnt bitter finish. The full soft body is creamy with a slightly chalky dryness at the finish. Each sip is an adventure, a trek down a slightly meandering and twisting path. Very well done. DrHomolka (722), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 11, 2007 Bomber. Pours a beautiful, fiery orange with a huge eggnog head. More bubbles than I’ve ever seen form on the top of the head. Clear, fat bubbles on top of clear, fat bubbles. Hundreds of chunks of yeast particles float around. That’s a lot of yeast. The glass is like a snow globe recently shook. Thick sheets of lace cover the entire glass. There are big bubbles even on the lace. Wow. Aroma is very balanced, more than I was expecting. Creamy hops with a strong malt background. Smells like a supercharged Dale’s Pale Ale. At first smell there is a trace of gasoline or ether, not really in a bad way just interesting. Never smelled that before in any other beer. Taste is super bitter, smooth and full of malt complexity. This is probably the most successful IIPA I’ve had in terms of having intense hops but still being completely balanced. Mouthfeel is about as ideal as possible for this style. Creamy and smooth without being cloying or syrupy. Wow. This is a world class beer. Ughsmash (3978), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 9, 2007 Bomber, forgot who sent this one my way.. sorry! Poured a clear, brigher caramelly-orange with lively carbonation, a short cap of creamy beige head, and sticky lacing as it descended. The aroma was chock fulla pine and grapefuit hoppage with just enough sweet caramel and toasty ligher bread to support ’em.. alcohol makes a noticable appearance, but primarily to enhance the hops. The flavor was driven by bitterness from the tip of the tongue through the long finish.. some sweeter caramels and grapefruit meat at the core with pine charging the hop front.. solid balance, but could have used more malt. Heavy bitterness and almost syrupy on the palate.. got a bit thick at the finish. Very good beer! TheKegergator (241), California, USA Aug 7, 2007 Awesome brewski.. FLOATIES!!!!111 Citrus hops all over the nose. Perfect pine scent, flavor. Nice bitter, strong finish. kmweaver (2389), Sebastopol, California, USA Aug 6, 2007 22oz bottle, courtesy of artusory. Thanks, Ryan! Pours a hazy, orange-amber color; off-white head with good retention and great lacing, coating the interior of the glass. Dense, resiny hop aroma; plenty of citrus and pine character; slightly dusty. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: plenty of resiny citrus and grapefruit bitterness with a significant amount of sticky caramel and maple syrup; somewhat astringent, with a bitterness that shows some harshness near the end. Lengthy, dry citrus and dusty finish. badlizard (2324), Berkeley, California, USA Aug 5, 2007 650 ml bottle. Coppper brown with a fizzy white head. Amazingly strong floral hoppy grapefruit and pine aroma. Buttery palate. Good caramel sweetness immediately transitioning to a swirl of citrus flavors: grapefruit, orange, and lemon all intermingeled, and finishing with a wonderfull overpowering bitterness. Wow! Roaddawg (3), USA does not count Aug 5, 2007 This is a wonderful beer! I enjoyed the woderful aromas of caramel, and lavish spices. Flavor was intense-starting off somewhat sweet, then developing wonderfly bitter, with notes of citrus and caramel. This is a great beer that is gonna be tough to beat.... Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Aug 3, 2007 Thank you After4ever/Tom for this wonderful beer! The color is between dark golden and red copper and the head is firm, lasting, huge and creamy. The aroma is hoppy, hoppy, hoppy - yummiiii... It has notes of fruit, of which some a bit old, resin, fresh cut grass and a bit of caramel. The flavour has sweetness and a strong and very nice bitterness that develops and grows a bit dry. It has notes of caramel, fruit, peach, melon, fresh cut grass and resin. It has a very nice balance and is very harmonic - incredibly nice! 2465
