Slightly opaque copper with a large beige head. It’s as though someone ground up one of those pine tree airfresheners for cars and mixed it in the beer. Delightfully srong aroma and flavor of grapefruit and juniper. A slash of orange and tootsie roll chocolate blended into the thick palate. Long tongue gouging bitterness. Delicious. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2008 Pours with a small, creamy, off-white head covering a cloudy, deep orange body. Aroma of spruce, grapefruit, rotting fruit, and brown sugar. Taste is immediately bitter malts followed by a bild up of hop bitterness that, over the long duration, finishes clean. Slight alcohol warming noticable immediately. Creamy mouthfeel with lively bubbles. I would like to see a bit more balance in the form of some added malty sweetness.
