Appearance is a cloudy copper IPA color. Flavor is a blast of hops. All of the aromas make their appearance as flavors. There is little malt backbone to speak of as the beer is unbalanced toward the hop side (not necessarilly a bad thing). The beer is heavy on the palate, as the hop resins are almost chewy. For some reason I seem to remember this being more harshly bitter, but even though it wasnt the taste bud assault that I expected, it is a hop lovers dream. Aroma is fruitier than expected, a tiny bit of sourness. Nice soft carbonation. Good palate and not chewy. Super intense hop character ranges from herbal to fruity to very bitter and earthy. Really nice, very enjoyable and good level of intensity. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA

Hops explode out of the bottle! A truly amazing nose, the eruption of resiny hop oils is truly a thing to behold. Flavor profile is ample and matches the nose, perfectly balanced. Just much lighter in body than I expected. The finish is amazing, the hop bite sits on the palate for a good thirty seconds. Wonderful!! Suttree (2739), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 23, 2005 Aroma of pine needles, like a Christmas with Bing Crosby, It’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas. A swirl gives it a nice head. Red, cherry juice color, with brown. Classic big hop aroma, and the flavor, characteristically of such a concoction, is less interesting. Although there are pine vs. floral vs. citrus differences among hoppy beers, does one really need that to know what you’re going to get with a beer such as this? michael-pollack (2718), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
