with age the hops drop out enough to allow the the sweetness to balance, but is it better?

Bright amber colour. Fresh, herbal-fruity hop aroma. Big, chewy flavours. Lots of crystal malt and resiny hop. By the numbers IIPA can hardly evoke a comment from me.

Cloudy amber color; small creamy head; end of the keg. Oh Lords of beer, this has a massive hop aroma, citrusy sweaty resiny and fruity; dusty cellar, dry hop leaves. Good body strength, with a rather smooth mouthfeel, even if the hopping is a lacerating experience; toffee flavor; the hop is extremely resiny and a bit fruity (bitter oranges), the bitterness induces headaches. Masochist pleasure.

with Tomahawk, Chinook, Athanum hops

Cloudy light amber color. Massive hop aroma, very fruity, grapefruit. Good body, powerful toffee, good residual sweetness, full throttle hop, extreme, fruity, resiny, killing, insane. One of the most extreme experiences.

Hazy amber color. Huge fruity aroma, resiny; aromas like a walk in a forest (freshly cut wood, pines…) very original and pleasant. Sweet, malty, extremely bitter taste: this is very good but more ordinary. The final has still a good share of sweetness, which is positive. Excellent.

(22oz bottle) Beautiful off-white head atop a clear copper body. Lovely lacing. Aroma is quite rich, medium sweet, pine, grapefruit, light pineapple. Taste is moderately sweet, pine, grapefruit, some caramel, orange, light chocolate. Creamy, medium-full body with resin galore, plus some alcohol. Definitely a keeper!

Thank you After4ever/Tom for this wonderful beer! The color is between dark golden and red copper and the head is firm, lasting, huge and creamy. The aroma is hoppy, hoppy, hoppy - yummiiii... It has notes of fruit, of which some a bit old, resin, fresh cut grass and a bit of caramel. The flavour has sweetness and a strong and very nice bitterness that develops and grows a bit dry. It has notes of caramel, fruit, peach, melon, fresh cut grass and resin. It has a very nice balance and is very harmonic - incredibly nice! 2465

Bottle @ LCRBM 2008. Grapefruit, malt and oily hops in the aroma. Malty, medecinal, oily hopbitter flavor with mint. The hops are a bit too pronounced.
