The aroma has lots and lots of hops - piny, tropical, earthy, citric and floral - very nice. It is nice and bold with very little malt presence that’s noticeable. Medium / full body that has a lot of lick resin and soft carbonation. It starts off with pine cones, pine needles, dry grapefruit and earthiness. The finish is very earthy with dark pine. Highly resinous. A great IIPA. cheapdark (2047), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA

Bitter sappy oily initial palate. Hey, did you wash the dish soap out of this glass? Wew, way too in yer face. Needs manners. Ruining and roto-tilling my taste buds. Has some surprizing carbonation. Did you ever chew on green grapefruit rinds? Later dude, Rude and crude finish. On style. SHIG (2046), Aviano, Italy

The aroma is citrus and hops. Taste is a bitter hop blast that awakes the taste buds to a suttle malt. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Pours with a clear medium amber body under a huge, creamy off white ehad.
Flowery grapefruit aroma.
The flavor is moderately sweet with a heavy bitterness that overpowers the malt. Bitter from start to finish. This has the hops, but it’s a bit out of balance without more underlying malt flavors coming through. FROTHINGSLOSH (2038), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s in Pittsburgh PA this beer poured an orange-amber color with a small yellow-white head. The aroma was strong pine and grapefruit that slaps the senses. The flavor was strong tangy and bitter malts iwth a very strong piney and grapefruity hop presence that coats the tongue and will not leave. The mouthfeel is thick and oily. The finish is incredibly long. Some wonderful elements here but there is a harshness to the intensity that detracts some. Good. Angeloregon (2036), Portland, Oregon, USA

Perhaps the most floral and complex big beers I have yet to taste. Gushing with Centennials and Cascades and dripping with a spectrum of refreshing potency. Deep orange and sticky resinous notes linger for days. Perhaps the greatest IPA of all! Indra (2036), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 25, 2006 22oz. bottle, 2005 release. Aroma fairly well leaps from the glass and fills the surroundings with the scent of abundant hops. A closer analysis reveals strong notes of pine, flowers, grapefruit, lemon, green, leafy herbs, and some background honeyish, toasty malt sweetness. Deep copper color, mostly clear, with a lasting uneven, creamy head and wispy chains of lace. Flavor profile is quite balanced to start, the rich, pale malt sweetness combining with massively fruity hops before a truly forceful and deep bitterness sets in, maintaining this throughout, subsequently blending back in with a faint amount of sugary malt and very light peppery alcohol presence for the finish, which is drenched in long lingering, juicy hop resins. Mouthfeel is slick and lightly effervescent, body is of course full. I was very much in the mood for a monstrously hoppy beer this evening and this certainly fits that category. A true hop-focused Imperial IPA as indicated on the bottle -- "super hoppy". Thanks, Bob! DaSilky1 (2025), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2005 Filtered clearity in amber color with thin layers of suds atop. Tangerine hop nose bending towards grassy. Balanced but big hop flavors flow..the caramelly sweetness of the malt brings out the resiny hop flavors which cause fireworks of candied fruitness. Did i say bitter...but balanced? Bitter but balanced.
