Unbelievably big, sprucey and floral hop aroma, with huge resins, pine and wet forest. Just a monstrous hop aroma. Insanely big body and texture, with a creamy and sticky texture. Caramel and toffee malt flavors in a big fashion, with a perfect hop bill, giving the perfect amount of bitterness and flavor. Perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness, hop flavor and malt flavors. Totally RAW and awesome. DrnkMcDermott (1851), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA

Well, this is 6 months old, so should still be do-able. Pours a bubbly, hazy amber under a big IPA type head. Smell is a little light, but with piney hops, cut grass and a tiny hint of spearmint. Yeah, really. Taste is where the big hop load waits. Still kind of fresh, resiny, frothy, grapefruitty, and a bit minty. In other words, hoppy, hoppy hoppy. Some sweet sticky malts are in the background, too, but mostly as window dressing. Very warming alcohol finish. A great beer, and available at a nice price, even as far out as Illinois. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 26, 2006 22 oz. Bottle Pour of clean, clear ruddy amber, the color of deep fiery topaz. With a shrouding rim of sparse white head. Zinger of an aroma, full of cream-like West Coast hops, rounded with freshly scraped Sicilian Blood Orange peel, fresh Florida Ruby Red, and Moroccan Coriander, ground. Flavor is piquant. A really heavy edge of spiciness, over a complex fruit. The Cascade dominates, but yields to a glacier-like advance of mixed up fruits and spices. I’m getting Oaxacan style seasonings, in a pot of mulled Wine, with some Thai fruit salad. Complex and intriguing. This is all washed away but liquid sweet sugars, clean and free of peril. The finish is somewhat unsettling, with a parching and quite bitter grassy resin coating my mouth, creating a sense of unbalanced yearning. Overall, decent. But some light diacetyls and the scary finish keep this one from earning top marks. Regardless, thanks Andy! LinusStick (1846), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 5, 2007 You know what is great about this? Balance. The balance of hops is perfect. It is not a thick syrupy hop overload with nothing else. The pour was a dark gold with no head. Aroma all hops. Taste was very bitter and hoppy with a thin malt backbone. Mouthfeel was thinner than most IIPAs which makes this a lot easier to drink and more enjoyable. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 21, 2007 Red amber with a huge head and sticky lacing. A rush of fresh hops assaults the ol’ olfactory senses once you pop the cap. Amazingly fresh. One second. This is way to good to talk to you. Shhhh. Some sweet malts hide underneath the hops, but are completely overpowered (not a bad thing.) I am going to sit here and enjoy this... you can go straight to hell... I just watched 300 so I’m am going to be more of an ass than I should be. thegreenrooster (1839), St.louis, Missouri, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 24, 2009 Very clear amber with a off white head. Awesome pine sap and sweet floral hop aromas. Medium body with soft carbonation. Big hop show here, with floral and pine with a sweet malty base to balance. Fucking great ipa nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2008 650 ml. Clear copper with a small lasting disc of cream that leaves a nice frosting behind. Aroma is grapefruit drizzled with brown sugar and a hint of cocoa. Flavor is way hoppy as advertised, with barely enough malt to balance. Grapefruit, resin, and spruce vs. some way over-matched caramel. Near-medium body is smooth, slightly watery in a drinkable fashion, and of course very hop-dry.
