Wining & Dining Tasting. Pours a slight hazy amber. Smells hoppy. Quite bitter - lots of hops - pine, dry grape and tonic. Smooth carbonation. Alcoburn. Bitter fininsh.

Deep copper, light tan head. Nose is rich caramel, plenty of pine, chocolate, slight butter. Flavor is similar - caramel, butter, extreme resin bitterness, alcohol. Very aggressive.

Bottle from Secret Santa. Hazy amber body with a large chunky beige head. The aroma is grapefruit, tangerine, apricot with cotton candy and caramel. The flavor is quite sweet with over-the-top crystal malt (i.e. lots of astringent caramel and ice tea), grapefruit and resinous pine. Medium/full body is sticky, chewy with a bitter, slightly astringent finish.

I received this bottle as part of BeerSwap 2.0. I pourd in to my Duvel tulip. Very murky, burnt orange with a sticky rich white head. Wonderful tropical fruit aroma. Very sweet and sugary. Fruit punch. A huge punch of hop flavor, again very much like fruit punch, with a pices of rock candy disolved in it. The palate is full and lusicious. Easily one of my all time faves.

Bottle. Pours an interesting color. Not really amber, not really brown. My best descriptor would be "tea-like". Moderately opaque with a nice sized light tan head that is formed from bubbles of multiple sizes. Sea-foam like lacing is left behind. Wonderful piney/floral aroma which is a pleasure to smell. Medium bodied and very smooth mouthfeel. Carbonation is low or the malt bill is tremendous, either way it coats the palate nicely. Flavor is a well balanced hop and malt bill. Pleasantly sweet with a generous, but not overwhelming, citric rind bitterness. Alcohol is tucked away nicely. Well crafted IIPA.

Many thanx to Carl Kins. Tasted with William and friends on 29.11.08. Hazy dark golden to orange color, with off white head. Aroma bit caramel, and many hops. Medium to full body. Taste is hops, hops, hops, also bit malts and carmel, good bitterness.

The Dan Journal #119. Tasted 10/18/07. 22oz bomber next to the Moylands Double IPA. Filtered and amber hues. Webbing of bone white head. Honey aromas in the nose. Mild nuances of melons and citrus. Full bodied with big bitterness. High gravity with a sticky burn. Huge beer! Livelier than the double. Toasty with malty sweetness. The GABF gold medal winner! I can see that.

Filmy head. Clear dark orange. Big hop aroma, resin and sticky piney hops. Taste carries big and full sweet hops. Slightly nutty, earthy. Mouthfeel is sticky, coating. Finish is a little dry, bitter hops, pretty clean. Excellent example of a west coast IIPA.
