Big resinous hop aroma - grapefruit flesh, peach, stem, all held together by toasty caramel malt. The flavor parts of the hops comprise the interesting part of the flavor - juicy orange, grapefruit, and almost a sweet pine element. Tingly hop spice in the finish. A fun-to-drink but unexceptional IIPA. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 23, 2005 Fruity, floral hop aroma. Nice. Hazy, orange amber in color. Yellowish, off-white head. Steady carbonation and excellent lace. Very hoppy profile but very well balanced. Perhaps not as good as Double Bastard, but very well done. Not as harshly bitter as some IIPAs. Really excellent. Peppery, piney hops, but has a creaminess to it. Moylan’s nailed this one. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Bottle from dirty_martini - Thanks! A blast of intentse hoppiness flows through the room as soon as I popped the cap. Blends of citrus and pine, light florals and a sweet maltiness. The color is a hazy amber with a large off-white head. Thick lacing. The flavor is intense with a medley of hops, lots of grapefruit, hints of pine, tail of florals, and a deep malty backbone. Pretty damn tasty! joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 10, 2006 Wow. Insane. Like a tamer version of Bear Republic’s legendary one-off eisbier I described as "sweetened hop juice". I’ve finished a bottle and I actually am hurting from all the sugar. Just a bit too sweet for me but the powerful toasty, citrus, resinous experience is still one to be cherished. Moylan’s best beer ever. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 11, 2005 pours dark red with a small head. smells sweet, piney, hoppy, grassy, everything you would come to expect in an IIPA. ive had a couple of these beers brewed by these guys and i remember i was impressed. this one sureley stands out as one of the, if not the top beers they brew. taste is just an explosion of hops and floral tastes. this was a damn fine iipa, and a good reminder as to why this is my 2nd favorite style of beer. It’s very dangerous to wave to someone you don’t know because what if they don’t have a hand? They’ll think you’re cocky. "Look what I got motherfucker! This thing is useful.
