Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Huge pine and citrus with a slight vanilla backbone. Medium bodied with a light malty sweetness. Huge long grapefruit and quinine bitterness. This was really good. JohnnyJ (1356), Carlsbad, California, USA

Tons of piney hops, citrus, caramel, sweet malt, grass, and herbal notes. Very well balanced, with little alcohol coming through. Good stuff. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2009 Bottle, with Alaskanwarren. Copper, off-white foam. Pungent intense aroma, as if this were some kind of house scent, not something to drink. Balsam, cinnamon, peppermint, menthol, radiating out of the glass in waves. Raspberry and quinine flavor, oily and medicinal. Concentrated in a way that makes me question if this was intended to be drunk straight up, or if a 50/50 blend with club soda would be more appropriate. A massive and excessive beer, but still very pretty in its own way, and clearly brewed with skill. Compared to a lot of the IIPAs I’ve tried recently, the hop character is very smooth and natural tasting. (So many IIPAs end up having that icky raw hop pellet flavor.) So as an experiment in how much hop juice you can cram into a beer, I totally dig this. Memorably intense. But as a beer I’d want again...not sure. A 4 oz glass of this would be plenty. (Unless I can spash some soda in there.) scrizzz (1345), kirkland, Washington, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2009 (bottle) very slightly hazy amber with off white head and nice lace. Aroma of pine and orange. Flavor is resiny pine and citrus hops with enough malt for at least some balance. Resiny pine hops aftertaste. Great for the hop head. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 23, 2005 Malts used were more roasted than I had expected - think expectations had to do with both the name and the packaging, as the bottle had a green screening that made me invision a total immersion in hops. The hops are clearly there, but more as an abrupt stop in the finish following the grainy, roasted malts. Very good, quite enjoyable, but not spectacular. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2007 Clear auburn, oily white head. Smoth but dank hop aroma, grapefruit, orange and pine. Intensely bitter upfront but backed up by a huge hop flavor. Though very nice to look at, it has an overly filtered flavor to it, lending a bit of a harsh edge. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 20, 2009 Local bottle. Cloudy orange beer with a foamy off-white head and sticky lacing. Aroma is tons of acidic fruit hops like pineapple. Huge flavour with the malt backbone bursting through plus more fruit hops like pineapple and oranges. Well balanced.
