| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Pours a nice cloudy copper color with a creamy, glass-sticking head. Big pine and grapefruit hop aroma, with a touch of toasty caramel malt fighting through at times. Flavor follows the aroma, huge bitter grapefruit and pine flavors don’t even try to be balanced by the slightly sweet malt undertones. Thick and lingering on the palate, with a big bitter finish. Seriously tasty! redlem (1155), Illinois, USA

Looks good when swirled, amber color with a smallish white head. Reminds me of Hopslam. I was expecting something different from this brewery like their IIpa is. Still a good beer. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Aug 2, 2007 22 oz. bottle pours a clear orange with a medium light beige head and really sticky, dense lace. Massive aroma of pine, spice, and citrus from fresh hops, and a welcome undercurrent of some nice malt based aromas-caramel and dark fruit. Medium/full body, with a thick, resinous, chewy mouthfeel. Substantial bitterness, both spicy and citrusy, but well supported by a nice malty richness. Everyone seems to making this big IPA’s now, but few are making them this good. piscator34 (1132), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 2, 2007 Light amber in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, leafy hops, pine, and a bit of candied fruit. Standard west coast IIPA mix of chewy caramel malts, and resiny/citrusy hops. Quite a long grassy finish on this one, which is nice after all of the caramel malts. Quite good, but could be a tad drier. Thanks to oakbluff for sharing this one with me. kyzr (1127), Belgrade, Montana, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 8, 2007 Thanks to riversideAK for the bottle. Been wanting to try this for a long time. Thick amber color with nice big creamy off-brown head. Ok, what do you expect. Yes, there are hops all over the place on this nose, but hints of caramel pop up in the background. When the hops hit your mouth, from that moment on, there is nothing but for a few seconds. Then just then can you start to find the slight hints of roast and sweetness. The finish is dry with hops that suck the moisture right from your throat. Wow! doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Pours a deep honey yellow/orange color with a moderately thick head that hangs around for a while and leaves a bit of lace. Smells of HOPS! Ripe citrus, and dark grass scents. The most wonderful and extremely bitter tasting IPA I’ve ever had. I love it. Just plain hops and only hops that’s it. Mouthfeel is not too thick at all. Good carbonation. Super, pucker bitter. What an awesome beer. If you really wanted to you could probably drink two bombers. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2008 This one turned out to be about what I expected. Sometimes high alpha hops aren’t the best approach, but they’re efficient. The bitterness was a bit astringent, though the nose was very nice. A decent beer, but missing the flavor of the hops, particularly the ones that were used. ehhdayton (1113), USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 19, 2007 Pours a clear golden brown with a nice thick rocky head. Lacing along the side is good and head duration is almost fully lasting. The aroma is rich with grapefruit and continually lasting. The flavor is full of hoppishness with a grapefruit dominance. The finish has a sharp bitterness but is not overwhelming. Overall a very nice hoppish brew.
