| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Pours a murky golden / brown color ith a nice soapy head. Aroma of citrus, loads of hops and malt. Flavor is uber-hoppy with a lot of grapefruit like bitterness. The malt doesn’t entirely balance out the bitterness, so it finishes with a huge bitter bite. One heck of a beast of an Imperial IPA, but quite enjoyable. For the price this can’t be beat as far as Imperial IPA’s go. elihapa (1052), Honolulu, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 10, 2009 Bomber, shared with Derek. Pours clear gold with a medium-sized white head. Features a pungent aroma of hops, most noticeably lemon, tangerine, ruby grapefruit citrus, and floral hops. Flavor starts citrusy yet mellow, then moves towards a strong hop presence backed in bitterness. Finish is lingering bitter hops, some toasted qualities -- utterly delicious AND over the top. What I love about this beer is that Moylan is unabashed about amping up their IPA to a “triple” hopped level, and this beer shows it through its hop bouquet and bitter, lasting finish. Not for the faint hearted, but delicious for hop heads. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA

Aroma of grapefruit, oily resin, tropical fruit and just a hint of caramel. Tastes of mangos and other fresh hop flavors with caramel and biscuit taking a back seat. Medium body. Oily texture. Nicely bitter finish. One of the best west-coasters out there...and cheap as well. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Nov 5, 2007 10-7-07 bottle. Translucent amber with thick head. Soapy hoppy aroma. Bitter and soapy flavor. However, it reminds me of putting a 9-volt battery on the tongue. This was so metallic it was hard to swallow. Very intense mouth reaction that I have yet to experience until this beer. Just too soapy, strong, overfilled with alcohol and metallic for little ol’ me. brentfeesh (1038), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 12, 2007 Enjoyed with Scott. Pours hazy amber with a small dense head. Big hop aroma with citrus peal (grapefruit and lemons). Strong but enjoyable. The flavor is a punch of huge hop flavor and that’s it. Lots of citrus peal that have predominately grapefruit as the flavor. It’s also a bit hot and overall too much for me. Very dry and bitter. This is the 3rd bottle I’ve had and it just doesn’t do it for me. WAY to powerful for my enjoyment. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA

Big floral nose with citrus and pine. Malty and very hoppy with the emphasis on the hops. Grapefruit and grass notes. Bitter end. Moylans does it again! estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA

Orange body, medium white head with good retention and lacing, very hoppy, resinous nose. Some sweetness noticeable under the massive IBUs, hoppy flavors predominate. A bit over the top.
