| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 30, 2007 Hazy orange with thin white head. Aroma fantastically orangey and floral with sweet hoppy goodness. Flavor is a concentrate of the aroma, but heavy and bitter with pithy supercitrus. $6.25/22oz urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 12, 2007 I actually can’t recall having a beer that was this hoppy. It’s bitter, it’s sticky, it’s sweet and it’s big. This has tons of hop complexity--all the flavors of that glorious cone, but more fruit than pine or spice. A remarkable beer. blklab2007 (974), Connecticut, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 23, 2007 o.k. here goes number 100, poured an orange amber in color with a full head on the pour settling down to a layer of creamy foam with little cloud like gatherings of denser foam. smell is hops from the second the bottle opens, fruity grapefruit, some grassy pines, and just looks tasty. taste is creamy on the tongue, not what i would have guessed, very full beer. hops in there for sure, bitter in a nice way, hops twang, cant taste any alcohol at all but the finish is very dry and leaves me thirsty for more almost like salt. the second half of the bottle had quite a bit of sediment in it and seemed to taste smoother and fruiter but it could be my taste buds just adapting to the hops overload. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 24, 2007 Updated: Mar 12, 2009Pour was a dingy copper color that had some turbidity to it. Creamy off-white head that was quite ample and offered up above average lacing. The aroma was a delicious blast of sweet citrus with notes of buttery sweet caramel and piney hops. The first few sips were a bit deceptive. Tasted a bit tame, until the hops were unleashed. A surging rush of bitter pine hops steamroll over just about any other flavor that attempts to assert itself. The malt backbone wilts beneath the onslaught of hops. Mouthfeel is very nice, the carbonation is perfect and the finish is as dry as a Stephen Wright comedy sketch. Interesting. Enjoyable. Just not the best DIPA I’ve ever had.
