Poured a clear, brigher caramelly-orange with lively carbonation, a short cap of creamy beige head, and sticky lacing as it descended. The aroma was chock fulla pine and grapefuit hoppage with just enough sweet caramel and toasty ligher bread to support ’em.. alcohol makes a noticable appearance, but primarily to enhance the hops. The flavor was driven by bitterness from the tip of the tongue through the long finish.. some sweeter caramels and grapefruit meat at the core with pine charging the hop front.. solid balance, but could have used more malt. Heavy bitterness and almost syrupy on the palate.. got a bit thick at the finish. Very good beer! Sammy (4012), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Hop bomb of delivery of Cascade, Simcoe, Columbus, Ahtanum, and Chinook Hops. Some malting. This is a feeding of hops. The appearance with a golden colour and white head, the aroma-hops. Just too much bitterness one-dimensional. Have enjoyed more balance in this style.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 1, 2006 Bottle (650ml). Shared with GregClow, tupalev, DougShoemaker, mds, Radek and others - my bottle via trade with SDBruBoy. Poured hazy orange with a smallish bubbly white head. There’s sweet malt backing up the aroma of this one, and maybe a hint of the 9.2%, but this is about the HOPS. My God this is hoppy - they’re all here, sharp, resiny, spruce/pine, citrus, some somewhat funky ones - Radek pointed out there’s so much alpha in there, it can’t help but seem a bit sour. Oh, and a hint of grain in the finish. Taste - well, even more about the hops - the malt fades into the background, this could be 2% alcohol for all I could taste - just wave after wave of grapefruit pith / lemon seed / resiny hop medley, and it takes a long, long time to finish. Decent body, astringent to the extreme, and even acidic, acceptably carbonated. A hop-head’s delight. Radek Kliber (3948), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 7, 2006 Can , nah just being funny. After pour noticed slight haze, white snowy top. Aroma highly accented with strong hop presence, refreshing I should add, good set of hops, mango, and fruity nose. Palate was acidic, hoppy, earthy up front, more of bitter in the middle, earthy bitter finish. Plenty of hops around here. Did I mention that was very hoppy? jerc (3936), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Updated: Dec 6, 20092009-12-04. Crisp orange body with a modest beige head. 3+ Alcohol starts the aroma, muted caramel malt, sweet citrus undertones to leafy resiny hops. 7+ Flavour is fairly bitter, alcohol is noticeable but not overbearing. Light citrus doesn’t linger, bitterness does. 7+ Average plus palate feels fairly carbonated. Decent. Just a touch boozy at times which is not unpleasant but brings it back a notch. 2008-04-11. Amber body with a modest white head. Nice hoppy aroma, lightly woody, resiny notes. Flavour is pretty bitter, good amount of resiny hops are a touch astringent in the finish. Palate is a touch more full bodied than average. (3+) Decent beer but I was looking for a lot more complexity to the hops, perhaps its just a touch past its prime? 7/3/7/3/15 3.5Bottle shared by DuctTape.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2004 Orange gold color, slightly cloudy. Medium white foamy head. Aroma is citrusy and floral. A medium bodied Imperial India Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are citrus and grapefruity. Nicely balanced, yet sort of leans towards the malts. Hides the IBU (100) and the alcohol 7.7% very well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter Grovlam (3809), Copenhagen, Denmark

Good display of lacework. Clear amber color. Aroma of biscuit, peach, grapefruit, citrus, herbal, caramel. Toasted malt. Full bodied with an average carbonation and thick yet smooth dry and complex texture. Heavy bitter flavor with good counter sweetness. Lingering biscuit and floral dry bitter finish. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2007 22 oz’er. Pours pure amber with a sheen and a thin and sturdy foam top. The aroma is as if I dove into a barrel of soaking hops ... wow. Likewise, this beer drinks with a kick-in-the-pants oily hoppiness ... earthy and citric all at the same time. The sting stays with you, too. The body is perfect ... not full, and not too light. Not sure this has enough of a solid foundation to support the superbly stacked-on powerful hop. This is an aptly named beer -- I’d love to try and freeze it -- and definitely for the Hopheads. (#3246, 12/14/2007)
