| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2007 22 oz’er. Pours pure amber with a sheen and a thin and sturdy foam top. The aroma is as if I dove into a barrel of soaking hops ... wow. Likewise, this beer drinks with a kick-in-the-pants oily hoppiness ... earthy and citric all at the same time. The sting stays with you, too. The body is perfect ... not full, and not too light. Not sure this has enough of a solid foundation to support the superbly stacked-on powerful hop. This is an aptly named beer -- I’d love to try and freeze it -- and definitely for the Hopheads. (#3246, 12/14/2007) Theis (3771), Denmark

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 29, 2008 (Bottled, thanks Esa K.) Slightly hazy darkish amber with a small head. Surprisingly mild, slightly stuffy aroma with some exotic fruit. Very intensely aromatic flavor with a mix of all possible hops. Backed by nice maltiness, and a very long, bitter aftertaste. Almost full-bodied with soft carbonation. Not quite in balance, but the intense flavor is very nice. Dedollewaitor (3759), Odense, Denmark

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 18, 2006 Poured an amber color with a medium sized, off white head, that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, piney hops, caramel malts, and some tropical fruits as well. Taste of more pine and citrus, light spices, raw grapefruit bitterness, and light spices as well. A fair amount of alcohol was detected. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Copper color with no head. Monster orange, citrus peel, bitter aroma. A massive smack of pine hop flavor. Big caramel malt base. Finishes with fresh orange and citrus. Now that’s a west coast IIPA! | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 3, 2006 Updated: Jan 17, 20072005 bomber shared with OldGrowth on 2/25/06. The appearance is lovely, and all. Copper-bronze, amber and lightly wavy, with a foamy off-white head, light lacing and low to moderate filtration. The aroma knocks you down with floral-piney hops. Big, bold and in your face, with a light caramel, arbitrary maltiness. Sure, it smells hoppy, but come on, anyone can hop the hell out of a beer. This dosent seem to be exactly precise and well-thought-out. Just tons of pine and citrus. The flavor is hops. Hop bitterness to the max with biting citrus and pine, heavy acidity building on the palate right from the start and plenty of light caramel and just a touch of munich grains. Alcohol is well-hidden and the beer is well-made with well-extracted malt and all but it just burns. Intense hop acid and bitterness, overwhelming the flavor by far. If you love hops and nothing else, this is your beer. For the lack of balance, the bottle conditioned carbonation is engaging and light. Lightly creamy texture. As it warms, some light fruits and sugars emerge. A touch of buttercream is evident.
