This is a wonderful beer! I enjoyed the woderful aromas of caramel, and lavish spices. Flavor was intense-starting off somewhat sweet, then developing wonderfly bitter, with notes of citrus and caramel. This is a great beer that is gonna be tough to beat....

Appearance is a crystal clear mild orange with a big sticky head that sustains and moderate lacing. Aroma is out of this world, the freshest of pine resin, swaths of citrus (lemon zest and grapefruit), and a backbone of pale and caramel malts. Flavor is initially bitter pine hops balanced out with sweet caramel and bread malts, opens up to sour grapefruit and light bubblegum, finishes bitter with moderate alcohol warming. Palate is thick and chewy with moderate carbonation. This is paradise for hopheads, plenty of dry and bitter to last the night, tons of flavor, the aroma is out of this world. This is from a super fresh batch and just can’t get over how good it tastes!

As I was pouring from a bomber, the aroma had my mouth watering and my head swimming. The medium burnt orange color was capped by a medium light tan head. The head lingered longer and the lacing was a thing of beauty. Each hoppy sip rendered a different experience throughout. Moylan’s description rang true as the high hop content greeted the nose, covered the palate and finished clean with pine and cedar notes. My first brew from Moylan’s has me ready to go back for more of their offerings.

Bottle from Julio’s. Pours an amber-orange color with a thin off-white head. Big grapefruit hop aroma invades my senses right away with some pine resin and tropical fruit picked up as well. Flavor shows a lot more pine than the aroma indicates but also packs a big citrusy punch with grapefruit, mango, pineapple with perhaps a note of lemon. A puckery bitter finish which works well with a sweet malt profile underneath the hops assault. An excellent beer!

Pours a cloudy orange color. Thick head that stays. Aroma is citrus and grass. Taste - hops, you betcha. Good and good. Alcohol is hidden very nicely. Just a good hoppy beer. Could get in serious trouble with this one. Great drink.

Hugely hoppy on all fronts. Had some on tap at Rattle n Hum. Nose of all types of hops. Flavor was a complex blend of all the hops with a touch of sweetness. Very sticky, piney. Lip-smacking on the finish. Really intense beer.

Bottle. Opaque orange pour with a medium tan head. Citrus hop aroma that is very crisp, but also has a nice malt character. Very bitter hop flavor, lots of citrus with a touch of malt and a full and lasting bitter finish. Outstanding.

22oz bottle. Pours a clear, amber-orange body with a foamy, off-white, finger-width, long lasting head that leaves a good amount of frothy lacing. Aroma is lovely and complex. Lots of fruity caramels and moderate sweet pines. Sugary pineapples, juicy oranges and grapefruits, strawberries, and mangos. The big malt backbone becomes more and more present as this warms, but the sweet citrus pine never goes away. Flavor is great as well. Initially, a truckload of piney hops jump out and numb the palate. A very mellow sweet caramel maltiness balances the big hop flavor after the intial shock. It finishes pretty dry with a long bitter aftertaste. The flavor didn’t start to impress me until this warmed up. There is still a big amount of pine flavor, but the initial sharpness mellowed out. The malts became fuller and sweeter and allowed for a much nicer balance. The fruits that were in the aroma became evident and the finish became slightly sweet. Lots of juicy citrus remained, however, still giving this a ton of hop flavor. The palate is medium to full and hides the 9.2% perfectly. I was surprised to read high how the ABV was! Overall, a very impressive DIPA. The clear cut favorite from my currently limited California experience. Mmmm.
