Mmmm. It’s like eating fresh pineapple while mowing the lawn. Earthy, massive slap of hop and malts. Opened bottle to a sweet smell of hawiian like fruity pineapple and piney vapors! Tastes like I’m surfin’ the big malt wave, too. This beer is a definite hula dance of tropical hops! Outstanding!! Shaka!

One word for this beer is: WOW!!! It poured with a big, frothy head and when I tasted the foam it was loaded with hops. The beer tasted less hoppy than the foam, which I thought was unusual. The hops were entwined with a nice malt backbone, whose sweetness tended to tame the hops. I was surprised that I couldn’t taste any alcohol, even in the finish. This is one of my new favorites. It was worth drinking the other 360+ beers in my ratings list, so that I could finally discover this one. I loved everything about this beer, however this definately isn’t a session beer.

Thanks to Dr. Bill for introducing this beer to myself as well as everyone else at Logans at GABF 05. I loved this beer so much I had to trade for it. Big thanks to Davecooks for sending me 4 bottles of this stuff. My favorite DIPA by far. Pour is surprisingly clear medium amber with a real nice lasting head and a kickass lace. Aroma is what does if for me with this beer. Dr. Bill himself said to me that this would be the best smelling DIPA I had ever smelled. He was right. Great fucking aroma. Pure pine and mint aroma to the extreme. Flavor is dominated by a shitload of tomahawk hops I guess because it is a hop quality that is seldom seen in other IPA’s. Just a lot of pine and mint all the way through, but a decent amount of clean light caramel malt. Perfect smooth palate, balanced with malt and hops but obviously more on the hops side, which is great. The bitter finish isnt as harsh as I would have expected, as there is plenty of real clean crystal malt. The best DIPA in the world.

This is just a great DIPA. Wonderful hop aromas. Citrusy piney flavors with a dry bitter finish. Definitely not for the faint of heart lager-louts.

From the moment you open this bottle the aroma of hops is beautiful and overwhelming. The first sip is a wonderful assault of hops on the tongue. Who cares what the beer looks like or what sort of brussels lace it has when it tastes like this. This beer is a hop lovers dream.

Nice orange-yellow color with a nice bubbly head. Very bitter flavor upfront, with potent citrus and pine. The reward is in the finish. Nice lingering memory on the palate.

"ok, this one is right up there with Ruination. Different, thicker mouthfeel...tastes fresher, like a hop altoid. if that sounds good to you, try this one. too bad it’s only in 22’s. the only drawback is the escalating price...Stone’s imperial is just is good for way less."

This stuff is amazing! I am a hop head and really dig this beer! Pours red with off white head. Bitter abounds and is very welcome! Cost issue aside this stuff is really great!
