Great hoppy nose, with grapefruit, apricot, resin, and cat pee. Mild sweet caramel. Mellow and enjoyable. Medium heavy body with medium carbonation. Medium dark abmer clear with foamy lacing head. Starts and stays hoppy, bitter throughout. Sweet undertones but really just hop juice! Wonderfully bitter and strong. Nice beer with bitter, bitter after.
On tap at Six & Save, New Ken. The aroma is like opening up a bag of fresh hops. Fresh, juicy, resinous, citrus. There is hardly any malt character. Hazy orange-amber with thin white head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Starts with good malt sweetness, light meaty taste followed by a tone of hops. Citrus, pine, resin - this is a huge hophead beer. There are flavors here I’ve never experienced in other IPAs. Amazing. Huge bitter finish and after. Braudog (3773), Dayton, Ohio, USA

The aroma is as if I dove into a barrel of soaking hops ... wow. Likewise, this beer drinks with a kick-in-the-pants oily hoppiness ... earthy and citric all at the same time. The sting stays with you, too. The body is perfect ... not full, and not too light. Not sure this has enough of a solid foundation to support the superbly stacked-on powerful hop. This is an aptly named beer -- I’d love to try and freeze it -- and definitely for the Hopheads. (#3246, 12/14/2007) presario (3001), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 26, 2006 Sharp grapefruit aroma with a background chorus or pine, orange and sugar. Thick frothy head on an orange amber beer. Delicious malt sweetness slowly gives way in each sip to the the towering hops ending in a long hop finish. A beautiful accomplishment. Can’t believe the light alcohol presence or the balance on the flavour teeter totter. As you drink through the bottle the hops tilt the balance well in their favour. Hazy golden-orange with a small head. Oh yeah, this is hoppy - aroma of orange, grapefruit, spruce & tea - and maybe I’m just imagining it because of the name, but I swear that I get some creamsicle notes off the nose as well. Flavour is just as hopped up as the aroma - but even so, it’s very drinkable, and hides that 9.2% amazingly well. I really should be sick of these hop-monsters by now, but I just can’t seem to get enough of them... JasonG (700), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 5, 2007 22oz bottle: Pours a crystal clear, medium copper/amber color, with smallish off white head. Aroma is absolutely dripping of oily, resiny citrusy hops, faint caramel, apricot, brown sugar, bit of vanilla, hint of soapyness. Flavor is malty, fair amount of kilned malts, caramel, with tons of citrusy hops, with an extremely well balanced finish that is both incredibly bitter, but yet with a faint sweetness. irishsnake (353), Oakland, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 30, 2006 pours a vaguely hazy, thick, deep copper-amber, with a light orange-creamsicle head that retains well and leaves good lace. sticky nose full of hop pungence - with less citrus than I would expect. woody, floral sappy pine forest center with a light caramel coating. whoa! big thick malt front rather quickly yeilds to any amazingly dense body full of hop flavor, and a sternly bitter finish. very impressive. big-bodied beer maintains suprising drinkability through its thick body. quite a good beer. A rush of fresh hops assaults the ol’ olfactory senses once you pop the cap. Amazingly fresh. One second. This is way to good to talk to you. Shhhh. Some sweet malts hide underneath the hops, but are completely overpowered (not a bad thing.) I am going to sit here and enjoy this... you can go straight to hell... I just watched 300 so I’m am going to be more of an ass than I should be.
