| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 16, 2007 Great smooth heavy malt body with a nice after-tang. Lots of upfront citrus with sharp hop finish. Isnt balanced all that well but why the hell should it be, its an IIPA for chrissake. Like it says in the description, its about the hops and this ale is true to that effort. Somewhat sweet and overtly floral. This brew is a bazooka of a drink, sharpshooters need not apply. Well done. smhncabot (310), Cabot, Arkansas, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 19, 2007 22oz bottle. Aroma: Really nice hop aroma. Floral, grapefruit, resin, and pine all coming through very strong. Some light maltiness and caramel behind all the hops. Appearance: Dark amber in color bordering on red and fairly clear. Off white head was big and foamy with great retention. Great lacing. Flavor: Some toasted malt and caramel come through, and then the hops begin. Grapefruit, pine, floral, grassy, earthy, and a strong resinous flavor. Fairly dry finish. Bitterness is strong, sharp, and lingers a long time. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Light alcohol warming in back of mouth. Overall: Loved the aroma, liked the flavor, but the bitterness was a little over the top for me. Needed some water to help wash this one down. Still, a great beer and hop lovers will certainly dig it. bdjames29 (272), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 12, 2007 Bottle. I have had IIPAs with a higher average rating that I liked less than this beer. My first experience with Moylans and a very good one. This is an excellent Imperial IPA with all the classic characteristics of an IPA plus a full feel in the mouth and an alcohol presence. Very smooth and very balanced. A repeat buy for sure. My full rec. GriffinAvenue (396), Winchester, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 21, 2008 Bottle. Clear, clean copper color. No head. Limited carbonation. Sweet, apricot, simcoe, hoppy assault before the tasting. Tangerine, tangy aroma overall and flavoring follows with a bmore bitter ending on the tongue. Somewhat watery given how rich the aroma started out but a very high quality beer in my view. I’d avoided these guys for a while and not entirely sure why.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2008 22oz bomber. Pours a cloudy, deep orange with brown and ruddy red highlights and a thick but shortlived off-white head that leaves large swaths of lace on the glass. The aroma is thick with green, sticky, delicious hops and is cut with a thick malty sweet honey and caramel nose. The flavor begins as a resiny hop jelly with amazing hop character - fruity, citrusy, and spicy. There is an undercurrent of malts - a light toasted breadiness with subtle toffee sweetness. The bitterness is strong, earthy, and citrusy at mid-palate (like dried grapefruit rind). It is slightly resiny at mid-palate with a slight sweetness that helps cut the big bitterness slightly. It all leads to a dry and hoppy finish with some breadiness and a light wood character. The mouthfeel is spritzy - surprisingly firm level of carbonation - with a very thick and full body. A light tingling on the tongue at mid-palate results from the tingly carbon dioxide, ethanol, and extra-firm bitterness. Overall, a super-bad-ass west coast hop-bomb of a brew. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Very bitter hops, grapefruit-piney resinous. Body is sticky sweet, carmally almost. Its pretty over the top. The finish is harsh and bitter and long lasting. It pretty much ruins the palate because of that. Nonetheless, it is quite good. Aroma is very delicious, although I have to say the flavor didn’t keep up with it. Aroma was very tart-citrusy and herbal, with hints of lemon, but the flavor was unfortunately dominated with a very strong bitterness. Overall: Good, but not great IIIPA. mabel (2612), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Slightly hazy, amber orange body with a quick off-white head. Bitter woodsy logs seeped in aged grapefruit sap. Bitter bitter medium-full body. Wow! Hoppy.
