Aroma is very hoppy with heavy citrus notes and caramel. Taste is a strong but at the same time subtle hoppiness, has a very nice fruit accent that you usually don’t see. Chewy mouthfeel. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 28, 2006 650 ml bottle. Cloudy deep amber-orange beer with a thick sticky off-white head. Gorgeous hoppy aroma. Juicy grapefruit and tangerine citrus over some sweet toffee malts, toast and bread. A bit tropical as well. Also some leafy/grassy and slightly resiny aroma. Resinousness doesn’t overwhelm the sweet fruitiness, but rather serves as a bit of an accent. Flavour is also fantastic, sweet pineapple/mango tropical fruit, some orange and grapefruit as well. Sticky mouthfeel, very grassy hoppiness balanced by a kiss of medium crystal malt, light sweet caramel. Bitterness is less that I would have thought based on the aroma, but as you get through the glass, it becomes more and more intense. Loads and loads of hop flavour. I’ve been craving hops for quite awhile and this bottle definitely hits the spot. As the beer warms up a bit even more complex hoppiness comes out, big piny notes mingling with all the grassy and fruity elements I mentioned before. Spectacular. Pours a dense copper and orange with a decent layer of film on top. Carbonation bubbles rise extremely slowly and are fairly big. Aroma is a strong dosage of freshly picked hops, pine and reminds me of a musty sweat. The drink is intensly bitter but delicious every last sip. Strong flavors of grapefruit, hop, and a sweetness similar to wild honey. Amazing double IPA, i couldn’t of imagined it being this good.

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 8, 2007 Insane beer. I don’t think that even the Ruination that stone puts out approaches this one. So hoppy, yet, it’s like one of those bruises that hurt everytime you poke at them, but you can’t stop. You just can’t stop enjoying the pain of this beer. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

Darker than expected amber with a decent head that didn’t stick around at all. Aromas were crazy. Sweet orange, grapefruit, Pine. Some sweet cherry too. Flavors were nice too. Grapefruit. Just enough malt to make those hops stand out. Grassy and piney on the finish with a bitterness that lingers. Great beer. Dmalone102 (221), Denver, Colorado, USA

I jumped all over buying this when as soon as I saw it. Aroma is reminicent of DFH 90 Minute (one of my favorite IIPA’s). Citrusy hops abound. Mango, orange, pine, and some earthy hops. Flavor is very nice. Finishes a little harsher than 90 minute, as this is a beer for the serious hopheads. I still find this very enjoyable, the harsh finish is not a turn off, moreso makes it a little challenging, but in a good way, if that makes any sense. Well done! Good stuff indeed. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Updated: May 7, 2009Pours a clear amber with one finger of head, quickly dissipating. Aroma is a dank, floral, hoppy herbal bouquet. First flavor is resinous pine, that sticks with you. Excellent, bitter and oily. The name fits. ON LATER ANALYSIS: Not only is this a great beer, it’s also a beautiful beer. Copper with layers of cascading bubbliness. MUCH LATER ANALYSIS: This has become overpriced and lost a lot of its charm. Its missing something - in that its just bitter, not flavorful.
