Bomber courtesy of SDbruboy, thanks again Cliff! Pours a caramel/orange color with a slight yellowed off white head. Aroma of pineapple, bready malt, pine, citrus, lemon zest and a bit of earthiness. The flavor is huge with hops, big blast of bitter grapefruit and spicy pine with some grassy/earthy elements...tropical fruit and sweet malt characters are there but kinda take the back seat...I mean the waaay back seat. Some booze and candied fruit elements as well and as it warms the malt starts to come out more in both the flavor and aroma. Sweet in the fornt that quicklt turns to a huge hop punch...a little bit sticky with a dry lasting bitter finish. This brew is certainly a hop-head’s dream come true. Now if Moylans would just send some to Ohio.

This is really a good beer. Pours to a deep copper color with thick off-white head that lasts thru mid-beerand leaves very good lacing on the glass. Strong grapefruit citrusy hops htis you as soon as the bottle is opened, and is sustained throughout. The initial mouthfeel is very bitter, and enjoyable, but as the beers warms, this is offset nicely by malty sweetness. Flavor is more of the citrusy grapefruit, all leading to a finish that is pleasantly bittersweet. By beers end, the 9.2% ABV also made itself well lnopwn in both the taste and the after-effects. I savored this beer for close to an hour, and it got better as I went along. My only complaint is that I cannot get this in GA, and had to bring this back from my home visit to Illinois.

Popped open this brew tonight and the smell of grapefruit filled the air. Pours out a murky almost dusty looking orange color. Head is light orange and thick but quickly falls down to nothing but a simple ring around the glass, great lacing though. Like stated before this brew smells great! Grapefruit and pine oils fill the air once you pour this guy a bit of sweetness in the aroma to really make the citrus effect hit home. Taste is thick, big, bad, bold, kick ass, hops. I’ve never had a beer except for maybe Dreadnaught to give my tounge such a "Shock and Awe" effect. Hops are the whole deal here and I love it. Hopheads, get on bended knee and praise the Hopsickle’s name!

Appearance: glowing copper with a frothy head; Aroma: buttered pine needles and forest floor, maple-dipped flower petals, a touch of darker maltiness; Flavor: beta hoppage!! bitter attack with lingering sour fruit finish (in a damn good way!). The finish lingers for a good 2 minutes before relenquishing its bitter grip. This baby performs! Palate: solid, substantial, savory. Overall: I burped hops. Mirroring great herb, this babysets you down easy after hopping you up. The aromas subdue you in to hoppiness, and gently slay your palate right before your eyes, but somehow manage to ease you into its brute flavor and velvety finish. This TripHop Ale is a beast to be reckoned with!

Bomber. Pours a beautiful, fiery orange with a huge eggnog head. More bubbles than I’ve ever seen form on the top of the head. Clear, fat bubbles on top of clear, fat bubbles. Hundreds of chunks of yeast particles float around. That’s a lot of yeast. The glass is like a snow globe recently shook. Thick sheets of lace cover the entire glass. There are big bubbles even on the lace. Wow. Aroma is very balanced, more than I was expecting. Creamy hops with a strong malt background. Smells like a supercharged Dale’s Pale Ale. At first smell there is a trace of gasoline or ether, not really in a bad way just interesting. Never smelled that before in any other beer. Taste is super bitter, smooth and full of malt complexity. This is probably the most successful IIPA I’ve had in terms of having intense hops but still being completely balanced. Mouthfeel is about as ideal as possible for this style. Creamy and smooth without being cloying or syrupy. Wow. This is a world class beer.

Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of roasted and caramel, heavy to harsh hop aromas of spruce resin, grapefruit zest and flowers, and light yeast notes of soap and broth, with peach, cherry, wood, smoke and pepper when it warmed. Head is creamy/bubbly white with excellent lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is a slightly hazy amber/orange. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic then finishes moderately acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a lively carbonation and finishes heavily astringent and extra dry. This beer has hops to the extreme. Aroma was perfect, but the flavor could’ve been a bit more balanced.
