Commercial Description:
Our version of the IPA beer style possesses a deep golden hue, rich malty flavor, a bold, complex, and enduring hop finish and is extremely full bodied. We dry hop this brew and use a combination of Fuggles and Chinook hop varieties resulting in an extremely enticing floral and spicy aroma as well as hop character. Great Western Two Row Pale Malt, De Wolf-Cosyns' Caravienne and Munich Malts are combined to achieve an initial specific gravity approaching 1.065.

Bottle from acknud, the hopmaster. pours an orange color with a nice white head. Aroma has some great citrus and floral hops with some notes of honey and malt. But the malt is only in the flavor. This one bites with lime peel and pure pine bitterness. Unreall how strong the hop presence is in this one. Thanks acknud!!

form a 22oz - pours like an olympic golden medal and a little hazy with some sediment and a 1.5" solid white head - leaves notches of lacing all down the glass - taste is where this beer shines - an outstanding west coast ipa with earthy hops up front and malt sweetness on the finish - creamy mouth feel - reminds alot of stone ipa with less bite on the finish - wish they made sixers of this

Pours copper / orange that is lightly hazy with a light soapy beige head. The aroma is bready with malt, some tropical fruits, moderate toast, caramel and citric hops. Medium body that is fairly crisp with some resin and semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts out with piny earthy harsh hops and the underlying malt with traits mentioned in the aroma. The finish is quite harsh and punchy. Very nice IPA.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a golden color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy pine needles aroma with some hints of grapefruit. Malty hoppy bitter piney flavor with some hints of grapefruit. Has a long hoppy bitter piney finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

TAP: at the Happy Gnome (St. Paul, MN) on 2.14.09. This is a good, solid IPA, but not special, and certainly can’t measure up with the really good IPAs (ie. Two Hearted, Furious, etc.). Orange pour, pine character.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with a creamy white head that quickly diminishes to a thin film that leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet melon, leather and some peppery hops.

The flavor is sweet caramel malts, some melon and a lot of peppery, tarry bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a decent IPA with a good amount of bitterness. The hop flavors weren’t up my alley - too tarry and charred.

22oz bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Hazy light amber body topped by a half inch of head. Smells of mango, apricot, toffee, and pineapple. First impression upon sipping it was that it had nice bitterness but it was masking a sticky sweetness. Has flavor notes of pineapple, caramel, grass, and citrus. Finishes a mess, lots of lasting bitterness and sticky and cloying at the same time. Certainly not a bad beer but it just can’t hang with some of the other amazing IPAs out there.
