| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 8, 2009 22 oz bottle pours hazy gold with bubbly white head and good lacing. Very earthy pine with lemon and orange, with touch of funk. Mild vanilla taste followed by little funk and slow dry finish. Very flavorful but not the best flavors. As it warms the caramel comes out more, but so does the nasty sweat flavor and aroma. This is not good for the style. I reiterate that this is flavorful but not quite what I want and not very drinkable. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 5, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of medium sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a hazy with with yeast swirls typically carbonated dark orange colored body. The aroma was hoppy. The mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the heated finish with strong biting hoppy aftertaste. The strong flavor contained notes of hops and mild spice. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. Lots of hops in this one! Harsebrau (168), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 4, 2009 Pours deep gold and rustic. White/tan head of significant fluffiness. Head resembled fresh whipped cream. Significant lacing. Very appealing. Aroma of flowers and rubbed pine. Touch of fruit. Flavor is round at first with a sharp finish. Chewed bard and needles are present after one experiences a sugary start of citrus. Bitter finish.
