Elwood (667), Leesburg, Virginia, USA Nov 8, 2009 Serving: 22 oz. bottle.
Appearance: Clear, light amber color with a small, light tan head. Okay head retention, but no lacing.
Aroma: Lighter nose with notes of earth, caramel, some dough notes, and a little roasted malt.
Flavor: Lighter than I was expecting as well. A little earthy peat, some caramel, some toast and nut notes. The alcohol remained well hidden.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a medium, malty finish.
Overall: Not as rich and full bodied as they might have you think. I thought it was middle of the road and not all that satisfying. I was left looking for more. Take it or leave it. TBone (6675), Pori, Finland Nov 7, 2009 Bottled @SBWF 2009.

Light amber with lasting head, Toasty malt yeasty aroma, Toasty sweet and fruity caramel brown sugar nuts and cloying yeasty finish. Soft palate. Too sticky sweet for me. Couldn’t finish. beernovice39 (241), South Carolina, USA Oct 30, 2009 Lots of malts here. Not too sweet. More a beer for the wife but I found it drinkable, just not something I would order.... Delirium (495), Santa Cruz, California, USA Oct 23, 2009 Bomber. Pours golden-brown with a moderately sized, disappearing tan head. Aroma is caramel malt, nuts, and significant yeast. Flavor is lots of sweet dark malts--- brown sugar, caramel, etc. Rather nutty, with some yeast. Bit of alcohol in the finish. Not hugely complex, and probably a bit sweet for some, but an alright dessert beer overall. Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Oct 21, 2009 Aroma is fairly strong, malty and yeasty with a firm undertone of caramel, rather sweet. It pours a clear mahogany brown with a fairly thick but not persistent off-white head. Flavor is malty with a strong burnt caramel overtone and nutty and yeasty hints. Texture is quite smooth and has a bit of a nip to it, almost like a barleywine. travita (1861), Frisco, Texas, USA Oct 12, 2009 Bottle thanks to swalden28. The look is copper colored and has an off white head. The smell is caramel, rubber, malts, and sweet. The taste is sweet, caramel, and malts.
