Poured from a large bottle into a trappist glass for drinking. It had a cloudy orange-amber color with a thin, foamy, white head with short retention. Aromas of caramel malt and molasses with a bit of straw and grass hops present too. A sweet initially taste gradually gave way to a bitter-sour finish with some caramel-toffee taste too. A wet and full taste with a good mouthfeel and cling; the carbonation was low to average with some fizz. A solid beer, but not spectacular.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark red-brown color with a medium sized brown head. The aroma was tangy, malty and lightly fruity. The flavor was tangy, malty and had notes of bread, cherry, pear and caramel. The finish was long, sour and malty. The mouthfeel was moderately thick. The alcohol was well hidden. Decent.

650 ml. Clear ruby-brown with a small disc of foam that lasts fairly well. Light aroma of chocolate and caramel. Tastes of apple, chocolate, and caramel with some peppery wood, cumin and peaty smoke on the finish. Kind of like a sweetened mole sauce. Medium body is mostly smooth, slightly watery in a drinkable way, and dryish on the finish.

kind of dull and uninteresting. Caramel, toffee, smokey, medium sweet and the finish is somewhat bitter.
