On tap at D’s in Monroeville. Pours a deep red / amber with a thick eggshell colored head. The aroma is malty raspberries and brown sugar. The flavor is a solid caramel malt with a bit of bitter spice to it. A little bit of an oaky roasted characteristic. Very Scotch. A really smooth silky mouthfeel. Not too heavy and pretty well balanced.

A good wee heavy. Nice malt character with a hint of caramel. not too crazy with the hops, but I can live with that. Very good for the style.

Pours out a thick, dark brown, with a well formed head. Aroma is very sweet with some carmel undertones. Flavor is very malty with some sweetness, and a big hoppy finish with some alcohol bitterness to it. Would definitely recommend.

Overall a nice brew, a little sharp tasting but not something you wouldn’t love to drink by itself. Sweet on the aftertaste; this is different for the usual scotch ale, but it’s definitely sweet and enjoyable Definitely one of my favorites to just enjoy after a meal. I can’t recommend on a "light" day, but when enjoyed as a "real beer", it’s something to reach for.

Pours a hazy copper with a smallish tan head. Aroma is moderately sweet caramel, brown sugar and spicy hops. Flavor is brown sugar, caramel and light spicy hoppiness. Smooth medium-full body, sticky texture. Finishes long and sweet with some alcohol warming.

Tasted 5/3/08. 22oz bomber. Filtered with a ruby amber hue. Bone white ring and web of head. Rich caramel nose. Raisins port and bready aromas. Full bodied yet rounded. All malt flavors. Smooth with low acidity. Flavors of caramel and cookies. Mild tingle. Slight ginger acidity. Faint hops. Touch toffee and a slight bitterness. Totally tasty!

Poured from tap an orange-brown with small beige head. Aroma is dominated by malt, nuts and grain. Flavor is sweet roasted grain, caramel, malt and a light nuttiness. Palate runs from light malt sweet and becomes a bit watery at the finish. I would drink this one again. It is balanced more to the sweet side than I prefer however.
