Poured from tap an orange-brown with small beige head. Aroma is dominated by malt, nuts and grain. Flavor is sweet roasted grain, caramel, malt and a light nuttiness. Palate runs from light malt sweet and becomes a bit watery at the finish. I would drink this one again. It is balanced more to the sweet side than I prefer however.

Disappointing. Pours with an off white head covering a clear brown body with a slightly reddish tinge. Weak malty aroma. Not much taste either for the alcohol, maybe some malts. Watery mouthfeel and completely dissapointing.

20071216 Bomber shared at Madness with the Moose v.2. Light brown color with small but sturdy tan head. Handsome aromas of richly nutty malts dancing on the loam. Unfortunate body is overly thin. Plenty of earthy, musty peat notes to remind you of the style.

22 oz bottle. Toasty, nutty aroma. Poured a golden brown with barely any head. Nutty, malty, carmel taste barely covers the alcohol. Low carbination, slightly viscous mouthfeel, which I liked. Good, not great.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma is malty. Smells of malts, nuts, toasting, and caramel. Poured orange/amber in color with a tiny, fizzy, tan head that diminished immediately. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malts, nuts, dough, bread, brown sugar, herbal hops, caramel, and a hint of chocolate. Medium body. Thin, watery, but dry texture. Average carbonation. Malty finish.

Nut brown color, small head that left a thin film and little lacing. Stron malt aromas that included caramel and molasses. Very sweet, bready taste. Slightly watery, little carbonation - Belhaven does this style better than this. But you can’t beat the name.

bottle - Pours murky brown with very little head. There’s not much aroma and what’s there is just malt and a little sourness. Uh oh... that last one is a bad sign for this style. Yep, it’s bad. It looks like Ughsmash got a bottle like mine. It had a very off, sour taste of infection to it and this is definitely not a beer that should be infected. Malt, sour flavor, watery... this is not good at all. It’s definitely a bad bottle, but it looks like I’m not the only one having that problem, so I stand by my harsh rating. What I got was a $6 drain pour.
