Pours a light amber with a thin white head. Very sweet on the nose with a little smoke. Taste is of very sweet fruit, malt, slight smoke. Finish is sour and nutty.

Hazy dark orange with a nice tan head. Some toffee with a light peat in the aroma. Sweet fruity flavor. Dried fruit and toffee. Pretty sweet with a smooth mouth feel.

Bottle. Sampled at YEHA. Poured a cloudy ornage body with thin head. aroma is esters, malt. Flavor is sweet malt, rich and bitter.

Fairly messed up Scotch ale, it’s almost as if this beer is rushed through production and not given the time it deserves to ferment and age accordingly. Pours a mottled brownish-amber with a bubbly tan head that quickly vanishes and leaves no trace of it’s former self. Lacing is non-existent, and the carbonation is slow and lazy. Hearty aroma of sweet malt, dry and lightly smoky with a calm organic peat quality. Smells nice and warming, but it is deceiving. Heavy and sweet on the palate. The malt feels like it hasn’t quite fermented out, sickly sweet it’s almost like drinking malt extract from the can. Flavor is a roller coaster of bad and not so bad, toward the end of the bomber it become more likable. Overly sweet the malt flavors are obtrusive and awkward. Honey and nuts, with a faint bitterness. It’s a tough one to enjoy.

Pours with a vermillion/bronze body with very little carbonation. My wife’s pint held a yellowhite head for a few minutes while the head on my sample glass fizzed away quick. Tart cherry aroma with low caramel and damp, mossy soil. My wife and I sipped our glasses in unison, and made similar confused faces at each other as we both found it to be initially too tart. Earthen notes follow with a splash of whisky and a hard-candy sweetness... or a stale strawberry caramel. Mid bodied, finishing with a light stickiness. Even though the alcohol warms the cockles, it would have been a beautiful night for a more "robustly" flavored Scotch Ale, as the mercury dips into the teens and the wind gusts to 50 mph.

Deep brown color pour with little head. Biscuit and bread like aroma. No bittering in this taste. Chocolate is the main flavor. Would have liked more smoke in it, Good scotch ale. Worth one more.

Very malty. Not much hops. Pours a dark amber-ish brown with a foamy biscuit head that fades quickly. The malts really dominate this one, as a Scotch Ale should. Honestly, I don’t understand the haters - this stuff is a good Scotch Ale. Scotch Ale’s are supposed to be full of malt, and not very hoppy.

Bottle shared at Madness w/ the Moose. Poured an orangey/amber with a small off white head. Earthy aroma with notes of peat and chocolate. Smooth medium bodied with a light touch of carbonation. Malty flavor of chocolate and slight alcohol. If if ain’t Scottish if’t crap!!!
