Cloudy reddish color with an off-white head. aroam of malts, nuts, and chocolate. Taste is a nice blend of malts, nuts, and chocolate. Fuller body than many beers of this style.

Poured a cealr, brown color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, nuts, roast, light chocolate, and a bit of smoke. Taste or caramel, light smoke, with some tropical fruits which seemed out of place.

2006 GABF Aroma is smoky, malty, with a hint of something that came across as a sharp wheatiness. Taste is complex malt with some smoke. No thanks.

Murky dark brown with a thin, fleeting head of off-white. Big caramel aroma with a hint of smoke. The flavor is another story, however. A big diacetyl, vegetable disaster. O.K., some diacetyl is acceptable in this style, but this one just didn’t pull it off well.

(22oz bottle) Hazy copper body topped by small beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, brown sugar, some spice. Taste is moderately sweet, brown sugar, caramel, light spice. Faint peat in the finish. Some alcohol warming. Smooth medium-full body, fairly sticky.

mahogany color with small off white head. toffee malt aroma with light grainy phenols and soy sauce notes. medium thin body a little on the watery side. more roasted malt flavors with more spicy smoky phenols coming through and backed up by a light bitterness. good just not great

Bottle. Pours a red-brown with very little head which disappears quickly and leaves no trace. Aroma is very malty with hints of chocolate or caramel. Flavor is all malt. Palate is very thick, definitely a slow sipping beer. A very flavorful beer but not to my taste.
