mahogany color with small off white head. toffee malt aroma with light grainy phenols and soy sauce notes. medium thin body a little on the watery side. more roasted malt flavors with more spicy smoky phenols coming through and backed up by a light bitterness. good just not great

Bottle. Pours a red-brown with very little head which disappears quickly and leaves no trace. Aroma is very malty with hints of chocolate or caramel. Flavor is all malt. Palate is very thick, definitely a slow sipping beer. A very flavorful beer but not to my taste.

Reddish color with a light head. Aroma is somewhat grassy with some light brown sugar, peat, and smoke. Flavor is a grassy-peat mix with some light hop and bready malts mixed, but not melding all that well. A bit too watery. Disappointing brew from the guys who make some of the best DIPAs around.

Pours a murky ruby-hued brown with a thin tan head that fades completely. Earthy aromas with a vinous tang and a bit of alcohol. Toffee, pitted fruit, molases, subtle peat and some smoke. The flavour has a whole mess of flavours, which combined gave me the impression of malted milk balls. There is some peatiness lurking in the background, which is fitting. The palate is weak though, lacking a legnthy finish and vicosity.

This is perhaps a bit underrated. The malt is very complex. I don’t see the lack of focus which others complain about. I find this to be quite satisfying, though 22 ounces becomes a bit too much. Very rich, but the thin palate keeps this in check admirably.

A so so scotch. Pour was a dark brown murk with a one finger tan head. Aroma was dirt, chocolate malt and some kind of fruitiness. Taste was smoky, thin and alcoholic. This beer was all over the place. Too many different flavors (smoke, caramel, roast, vanilla) battling each other. Top that off with a very thin watery mouthfeel and you get....as I say too often....blah.

22 oz. bomber. wow, what a find. pours a rich mahogany brown with a head that disapates quickly. Aroma is intense for this style. rich toffee and brown sugar dominates. Starts with an impressive full mouthfeel with dark caramel, more brown sugar dark mollasses, malted chocolate, and a smooth and mellow floral hop faintness. Has a warming alcohol that is melded nicely throughout. Think Bells Best Brown imperialized! And,watch out Robert the Bruce!

Reddish brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is of rum and cherries with caramel. Taste is somewhat heavy on vanilla, and not enough roasty caramel for me. Body is a bit thin, with lackluster finish, though chocolate and very mild isopropyl are present on exhalation. $5.50/22oz
