Bottle. A lot of caramel malt in the aroma; a little earthy and smokey. Flavor is the same, malty. Pretty good, but too sweet for me.

Pours a dark brown color with foamy tan head. Aroma is very sweet malt and earthy, kinda like fresh topsoil. Flavor is very very malty and a strong alchol warmth. Slightly peaty and smokey. Good find at the shithole next to my hotel in napa.

Pours a deep dark amber color w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Good hangtime w/ a full ring and canopy for residual lacing. Aromas of sweet biscuits. Medium full nectar w/ soft and creamy residual effers. A moderately sweet and very malty brew w/ a defined biscuiting. Other nuances of cocoa, molases, buckwheat, ginger bread, coffee bean. The finish is bittered only lightly w/ a long coffeecake sweetness. I would not say this was robust and bold. More like fat, sticky, and lazy.

Rating #1,500. Pours a lightly hazy brown with ruby red highlights and a medium light tan bubbly/creamy lacing head. Aroma of toasted sweet malts, some caramel, nuts, dark fruits and hints of scotch. Flavors of the same would have liked some more body, was on the thin side.

22 oz bomber. Pours a clear amber bronze color with a medium brownish beige head. Faint aroma of toasted malt, cotton candy and a touch of alcohol. Taste is watery malt, a touch of spice and a touch of candy sugar. Weak overall. Kind of watered down. Not very impressed.

Aroma started with a resiny hop, but suddenly strong malt. Good amber color with a slim off-white head. Starts a bit smoky, full mouthfeel, tends to thin, most of it is rich malt. There is some hop, but it is overbalanced by the malt. Finish is dry compared to the start. Something of an alcohol burn in the back of the mouth? Probably appropriate for the cold winter months.

Muddy amber colour with a beige head. Malty, fruity aroma with a vague acidic note. Malty, dark fruit sweet flavor with hints of some sourness. Light dry and dusty finish.
